    Hi there, just a brief introduction. I am 27, been lifting for over 5 years, tried lots of things, read lots of things, over thought things, under thought things, a friend told me about DC and convinced me to do it.. shouldnt of, got told not to, got told i needed to lose fat and get stronger on 5x5 for a year at least before going back to dc.

    Right here goes....

    My diet..
    previously I have been on a high carb, high protein low fat diet. I was consuming between 350-400 grams carbs a day mainly from rice and also oats, and simple carbs from cottage cheese. Sometimes i would have more than 400 grams. I was eating around 300g protein and I have gotten fat. lol.

    I have changed my diet,
    I am eating 150 grams of carbs a day in my first 4 meals, typical days food consists of the following

    meal 1.... Whey protein with 50grams of oats, and 6 egg whites, 100g cottage cheese

    Meal 2..... 42 grams (raw weight) of baslmati rice, tin of tuna, salad, and 100g of cottage cheese.

    Meal 3...... Whey shake plus 42 grams baslmati rice.

    Meal 4...... 2 Chicken breasts 42grams rice and salad

    Meal 5....... Salmon fillet, with salad and veg

    Snack .......31 g of peanuts

    Meal 6........ 6 egg whites.

    This would be for a non workout day, and typically would be the same for a workout day apart from post workout i would have another whey shake and simple carbs prior to a meal with protein and carbs.

    I have decided to do the 5x5 routine from all the advice i have been given, still not sure if i should do the Strong lifts or Starting strength (they are both practically the same apart from SS does 3x5 instead of 5x5) as was unsure if doing SL on my diet would be too taxing.. but have decided to go with SL for now and see how it goes...fingers crossed

    so i will be doing 2 workouts, A and B, mon/thurs/sat

    A
    5x5 Squats, then 5x5 Bench, then 1x5 Deads

    B
    5x5 Squats, 5x5 Overhead press, 5x5 rows.

    My first workout begins on monday, and am fricking excited.

    I am only supplementing whey, but intend on getting the following supps as soon as i get a job, and im waiting on a couple things so potentially could have a job by next week....

    tribulus, BCAAS, ZMA, multi vit, kre alkalyn, glutamine... (any supps u think i should definitely add to that let me know)

    Try adding some healthy fats into your meals, I don't see many in there.

    Also add some protein to your meal with peanuts.

    Tribulus may not be worth the money...try getting MG's Super Test Booster from TN instead.

      good advice, i forgot to say i have olive oil on my salads.... peanuts and salmon have healthy fats too.
      i have been recommended udos oil... i think its a blend of some good efas which i think i will purchase too.
      MG? what brand is that. We might not have it over here in england but sounds interesting

              I have a bottle of ECA that i can use, but wasnt sure if i should start popping them now on cardio mornings, or wait till i plateua on weight loss to start taking them..... opinions please .......

                anyone able to hep me...
                i was looking at skips prep journal today and i noticed his post workout meals had no simple carbs.... his journal didnt show supps, apart from true protein whey, and i know he takes more than that, do you think or know if he got simple carbs pwo from a supp source, or did he just really not take any???

                  i am gonna b hiring him , iv spoken to him about hiring him just saving up the cash for a month or so...
                  what routine u think is better for me mad cow, SL or SS?
                  Considering my lifts are...
                  bench 242 pounds for 5
                  squat 352 pounds for 5
                  deadlift 352 pounds for 5

                          iv got the mad cow workout routine and read up on it on the SL website, they say its as follows..

                          mon squats, bench rows
                          wed squats, overhead press, deads
                          fri squats, bench, rows

                          now i assumed it was 2 workouts rotating, so next week mon and fri would be the same as wed, but the spreadsheet on the site it gives to download has it fixed as what it is above.... any ideas????

                            I can't speak for him, but I know Skip has said before that he doesn't like to use a lot of supplements. Not as much as others, I suppose.

                            Also, pick a program, and stick with it. Do the DC stretches with whatever program that is, it will only help. Mad Cow is pretty solid in my opinion. 5x5, Max-OT, Dorian's style, Mountain Dog style.....just pick something and stay with it.

                              yeh skip had said that , but i watched his vid, and he had a massive list of supplements..
                              i only take whey right now, at most will take whey, vits, krealkalyn, glutamine, tribulus and zma, thats it, watch his vid he takes loads
