Good Luck. Nice to see you have Shelby at the helm. I say to most people even if you are knowledgeable it is advantageous to have a coach. It's almost impossible to be objective with yourself. Good luck.

Kinda agree with this DG. If you're paying someone to diet you down, I'd take it to 8% at least, maybe more if you can. Every fucker on bb.com can diet down to 10%.

I'm thinking about that guys. My main concern for this year was putting on size, the reason I'm doing this is to diet down to a place where I can gain size from a lean place (I'm hiring him twice in a row ). Don't waste any more time than I need to getting smaller when I could be getting bigger.

Still young, don't wanna waste too many of these years dieting down. As Dante has said, trying to get to a place where I can walk around big and rock hard for my 30's and 40's.

                        Dark---

best advice i can give is tommorrow is promised to no one...if you wanna be a bodybuilder then diet down and do it. Your 30's and 40's are a long way off. Life my change and your priorities may be completely different. i wish i would have started competing 3-5 years yearlier instead of spending those years in a perpetual off-season...

competing will do nothing to derail your growth esp if you do it every other year....i gained/learned more in 12 weeks for my first show then i had in the previous year

Thanks for the advice brother, I appreciate your time. I consider you a vet here, and have always read your posts when they've come up.

I actually have no desire to compete (as of right now). My goal, long term is to be the biggest leanest person I can at around 198. I don't wanna compete, but I'm not completely against it either.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say "Well since I don't compete, I can look like a fatass all year.", that's not what I mean. I would like to look better throughout the year, but do realize that only with eat massive amounts of food will I get where I need to go. Thus, I'm dieting down with Shelby, and hiring him again so I can learn how MUCH food my body needs to grow AND stay lean.

Maybe one day if I look good enough, I'll compete!

                            First day back

Decided to start with B2, instead of the first week. Wanted to try out leg training again, as I'd been fighting with some patellar tendonitis in the previous blast and couldn't train quads very well, so I went into a cruise for about a week and a half hoping it would give time for the inflammation to go down.

Well. It went shitty today, no way around it. I'm gonna do two things now- start regular A.R.T. until this clears up, and order some knee sleeves. I HATE not being able to train quads the way I should be able to.

DB curls - 30's- rp 33 (Too light, but fine for first day back).
Hammer Rope Curls- "52.5"- x8 + static hold (Love these)
                            Cybex calves- 170- SS-13
                            Glute Ham Raise- "60"- SS-13
Hack squat- 3 PPS-x5- HURT TERRIBLY- tried 2 PPS- did 2, and said eff it. Time to see the chiro.

                            Stretches-Check.

Diet is going well, though I can't comment much on the make up, I will say that it's not hard to follow, though I've been hungry, a feeling I'm not used to.

Thanks for the kind words...I agree with your reasoning. Theres only one reason to do a show: for fun. It's way too much work if you don't enjoy it. If you think that you need to be "230 shredded" that's just not true...
