I would like some ideas on different excersizes. I get bored with my routine too easily. If I can do something different now & then it helps. Even little things like db curls vs. straight bar cable curls.

Are you squatting and Deadlifting? My wifes sweep has gotten way better once she got more serious under the squat bar. She is up to 165-185 for 15 now. Deads not as good but she is getting there.
I love partial deadlifts for my back. I go from just below the knee and then do a shrug at the end. You can use a lot of weight (lottsa weight turns me on ;-)). Last week I was using 275 for a set of 8, and that's two weeks out from my show...just wait until I'm eating normally again! Get some straps and try it, hope you like it, too!

I almost forgot to answer you. KR got me all excited.
I don't get any spotting from my partner so I use the squat machines (?) and the smith machine. I am up to a whopping 80 lbs on the machines & 20 squating.
I do deadlifts with a bar across my shoulders - the only way I can keep my back straight. I think it weighs 25 - 35 lbs.

KRL-I don't understand how you do deadlifts with the across your shoulders. By deadlifts I mean picking the weight up off the ground (a barbell) and standing up with it until your shoulders are back and you've got the weight under control...You've gotta get your hubby to share his secrets with ya! Don't be afraid to use more weight, either, its sooo much fun!
RED........A trainer at the gym suggested this to me because I couldn't keep my back straight. I guess it's sort of a reverse deadlift.
What I do is...Stand with feet slightly apart, weighted bar across my shoulders. I then bend forward (knees not locked) till I'm horizontal to the floor.....then as I come back up, I squeeze the butt cheeks together --- but do not come all the way up. (Just so that I'm slightly tilted.)
I do 3 sets of 12 - 15.
I am slowly getting the weights up.....had to be careful after surgery. Someone on the "other" board warned me of getting a hernia after his surgery & lifting heavy.
