  • Help in Preventing Sickness

    Alright Guys,

    I need your help...

    This has been the 3rd time this year I've been sick. First time was in Feb, second time was in May and just now I managed to get a head cold which is a bitch to have.

    I just wanted to get some input from you guys as to what preventative measure you take to keep yourselves healthy most of the year.

    I take a good multi vitamin, and I get about 3g of vitamin C a day, is there anything else I can do or take.?

    I would suggest spending some time in the preventative measures forum...lots of answers in there! Just curious, what kind of multi do you take?

      Heckman is right, you'll find tons of good info in the health forum.

          GLUTAMINE (20 - 30g / day)
          Vitamin C (2,000 mg / day)
          Vitamin E (400 IU / day)
          Multivitamin/Mineral
          R-ALA (200 mg / day)

          I had a bad immune sytem for years and started following this and i might get sick once every 4 - 6 months, which i better than ever 2 weeks.
          Whatever your mind can conceive and believe, you can achieve!!!

            I take Vitamin C, ZMA (zinc) and a multi vitamin b4 bed. Seems to be good for me.

              Believe it or not...sometimes illness is a sign of overtraining....It is the one way your body can stop you from going to the gym..don't know what your workouts are or if you have anyother signs of overtraining ...but think about it

              Other than that ...hey we all get sick sometimes.
              This girls walks up to me and says " My God you're good looking!"

              I say" I know!"

              She gets offended and says" WHAT?!"

              I said " I know I am goodlooking!"

              She said " You're also and ASSHOLE!"

              I said " I know that too!"

                I was coming off a 2 week cruise and got it after my first workout of my new blast, I think it was just something bound to happen, nothing realted to overtaining, since I was feelign great before I got the sign of illness, infact very well rested, now that I realize it, several people at work, and in the family have all gotten it,

                  Wash your hands often....especially after lifting.....and try not to touch your mouth,nose or eyes thats how the virus you pick up w/your hands gets you!
