OK Coffee lovers the best damn coffee in 5 minutes..

There was a coffee thread on here a few weeks ago..basically about brewed vs gourmet vs coffee shop.

I meant to post a response for this as I am an avid coffee lover and brew my own.
The best damn coffee I have ever had comes from a Coffee Press or better known as a French Press.

It is pictured below and is basically a small glass pitcher with a top and a push down strainer.

Add the coffee grounds, add boilng water, let steep (sit) for a few minutes, and then press the grounds down and pour the resulting black gold into yer cup and flavor accordingly.

It leaves you with a rich, smooth, non bitter, pleasant tasting coffee over brewed and you can make it like you want-for me extra strong!

I also press GREEN TEA in it from time to time.

I got mine at Target but they are in most stores in the kitchen sections.

so when i saw your post i was ready to disagree with you. then i saw the picture and i knew that you know what you are talking about. i've been drinking out of these for 7 years now. you can not make better coffee any other way. everytime i went out to caly i made sure i took my press with me. i seriously never leave for a long period of time without it unless i know where i'm going has some good coffee shops around. well i'm out for now, have to go to starbucks.

I use to use a French Press but now i just use a Black and Decker drip Coffee maker. So much easier. Everyday, rinse out the pot, pour water to the max line, replace old filter with new filter, five scoops of ground coffee, and push the button. Keeps it warm for hours and the timer kicks ass too!

French Press is easy too except i don't have to clean out all the gunk afterwards. Now i just pull the old filter out and put in a new one! Either way....gotta love coffee!

Isn't that with molassas in the coffee? I LOVE THAT!! very rich.... Sweat, are by chance cajun, cause that's a very cajun thing to do with the coffee.

I see you can speak with that cajun accent though!! Don't you just love the way they talk? You gotta really listen hard at first to understand, but I love it. So much better than a texas twang.

If you look on the back of the molassas jar, I believe it will say to put it in your coffee for a rich taste, I even think it mentions a chickory flavor. Next time I'm in N'olens I'll be sure to try the cafe dumonde...

Did you ever have a beniegt.. not sure of the spelling but it's a really good pastry with lots of powdered sugar & goes great with good coffee... In the french quarter there is a place called cafe begniet.... oh man, it's good stuff.

You know, that may actually be the place I'm thinking of. It's been several years. I may have just gotten the name mixed up with those awesome pastries. Ok, february, I'm making a plan to go to Mardi Gras & hit up the cafe dumonde.

Union coffee or french market restaurant blend both have chickory and there is none better...Sweat & American, the cafe Du Monde have there own blend, but I find the other two better....pm me if your interested maybe I'll send ya some...

In the States PETE`S is the best coffee. San Fran area .. I guess he was Starbucks partner when it all started. Now Starbucks is everywhere but Petes is still the best.

In Brazil anywhere you go .. the corner cafe .. anywhere .. the coffee is the best !
