  • Weight-training bucket list?

What's on your weight training bucket list?

What are the goals/things you want to accomplish related to strength training/athletics....these can be things that, maybe aren't your main focus but something you'd like to just once.

I'll start my listing the things I've done and then the things on my "bucket list

    Bodybuilding competition (13x)
    Powerlifting meet (12x)
    Strongman (1x)
    Obstacle Race (2x)

    Powerlift @Nationals

    1 more bodybuilding show

Learn to snatch and jerk/compete (this is something I'd really love to do but not sure if I can improve my shoulder mobility enough-I don't even need to lift any amount of weight just to properly execute the exercises)

Spartan Trifecta- run a Sprint/Super/Beast in one weekend (fri, sat, sun) this would be tough as the beast is 13 miles....tough but possible

Diet down to 135 in the spring/summer and smash my old PRs

Some seminar ideas a few years down the line. Just waiting for my career to catch up with it, but I've been reading up on it

Still in line to compete in 2017, not sure how 2016 will pan out with all of the audition rotations in PA

Maybe another power lifting meet later in 16. Want to break my squat / dead PRs.

Rock abs and veins for summer (not quite stage lean though)

Damn Truclet, I may try for the trifecta next year. But the same weekend, thats just crazy LoL.

The one goal I would really like to accomplish is winning the overall at a natty show, then possibly jump into the NPC.

I would love to win some overalls at competitive shows and then possibly jump on the National stage at some point in time to see how I fair.

              @Natural Pump

That's how they do it in Hawaii, the trifecta weekend is August 12,13,14...for me that's part of the attraction to do all 3 in consecutive days.

I won 2 overall bb'ing titles at ABA and did really well at othe non NPC shows but never had much luck at non-tested NPC shows,....lots of 2nd and 3rd place finishes.

Before I can give an answer, at what age can someone reach their peak before an inevitable age related decline? At 26 I don't feel like I've past an age where I can reach my potential but there has to be an age where your potential dips dramatically.

Deadlift 700 would be awesome and is a tangible goal. However I think I'll say, "Keep training". I know inconsistency is the achilles heal of many, many lifters and the ability to grind day after day and week after week is what separates the men from the boys. I have been as guilty as the next guy of letting life derail progress (ie multiple, multi month, unplanned breaks from the gym).

So I just want to keep training and stay consistent. I know I will press hard at times and back off the gas at times but I just want to keep grinding and I think the chips will fall in a favorable way.

That said, I hate non-specific goals so good on everyone who has some in mind.

I am just curious at what age range you can start to expect your recovery and fat loss ability to slow down dramatically. Do I have 25 years to achieve something on this bodybuilding bucket list or just 10 before my body starts fighting me way harder than it does now?
