  • Problem with my right bicep!!

    Hey folkes,

I have an issue with my right bicep and I'm hoping someone on here can help me find out what the deal is with it or perhaps tell me what to do to correct it.

About 3 months ago I measured my arms and my right arm was 1 and a half inch smaller than the other. I'm right handed and both arms are the same strength so it's not a strength issue. Since then I hit the lagging arm with widow makers and in just one blast now it's just under a half inch smaller which is better.

However the problem remains... I can hardly feel my bicep contract at all. Mostly all I can contract is my forearm on this right arm. It's as if I don't have a good control of it.

Also I notice if I do have a decent workout on it and it does get pumped, it loses it's pump very very quickly.

    I'm guessing a pinched nerve....anything I can do?

Hmm very interesting. My right arm is my dominant hand yet it is half an inch smaller then my left. I recently had a problem where I would do standing DB curls and my right arm would fatigue almost right away and my left could go all day. Chiro said it could be a punched nerve of brachial plexus. Best thing to do is see a chiro or PT.

Hmmmm... Not feeling the same kind of pump? Maybe blood flow issues? Could play into why you don't feel it contract the same, less blood volume? Hey, just taking a shot in the dark here..

yeah its like if i flex both biceps...the right one feels completely different and that's if i can even flex it properly without my forearm flexing like crazy.

thinking about the bloodflow thing...my good arm has one big fat vein running down the side of it and the lagging arm more like has a mass of veins all over it. perhaps that's something?

i should be able to control it though i would of thought. its like i can't just isolate that bicep .

            sounds like a nerve issue
do you go to a chiropractor?

I've got the same issue with right/left calf. That 'feel' just isn't there in the right one. I have veins everywhere on the left calf, including some vericose vains, but nothing in the right one whatsoever.

I assumed some type of fascia issue so I've been using 'the stick' on it & finallly I have a vein from my achilles up to the bulk of the calf, then it disappears.

Myofascial release could help a bit, I am interested in others opinions!

                I don't see a chiropractor...but it's probably time I started.

Perhaps foam roller on it may help?

It's more for the forearm, but check out the armaid, it could possibly be tailored to hit the bicep.

It would surprise me if it wasn't nerve related.

yea man, i have the same issue with my left…..its like a inch smaller and there is a huge knot in my triceps and the pump is extremely hard to get equal as my right……

but i honestly believe it has to do with my left shoulder that i hurt in football.

im gonna try to get some deep tissue work done on it
