  • Different Gym Cultures In My Travels

I don't travel much, but when I do I always seek out a local gym (usually a Golds) and try to put some work in. One thing I have noticed is that almost every gym has it's own distinct "culture." I just went to a gym in NorCal and this one clearly had a culture of its own and you could tell just by looking at the clientele.

    1. Plenty of big dudes, but none were competitive bblders (that I could tell)
    2. Most had tribal tattoos and/or were completely sleeved
    3. Flat brimmed trucker hats (Bro's)
    4. Tee-shirts and tank tops from Nutrition Companies
    5. Those big earrings that leave a hole in your ear
    6. Plenty of chest bumping man hugs to go around
    7. Numerous lifted trucks in the parking lot

This ^^^ was my most unique gym. Another I went to was the germofobia gym. Everyone had a towel. Everyone sprayed down the equipment with some type of disinfectant that were in bottles all over the place. There was hand sanitizer on the wall to use when you enter/leave.

Based on the lack of dots on the face, neck tats, and Raider nation gear, probably not the 24 hour on High St. (heh) in Oakland.
