I was talking to one of the guys there recently who knows the 160 lb. guy and said, due to certain personal situations, he could only do basic calisthenics.

          I'm talking about 1,000 pushups a a day, 1,000 crunches a day, etc. for almost a decade.

After his situation changed, he got himself a bench set and would workout with buddies. Always warms up then just do 1 plate (135lbs.) for as many reps as they can. Once that got easy they would make the jump to 2 plates (225lbs.) for as many reps as they can.

Literally no other exercise was done besides bench until he joined a gym.

I forget where I read it buy Louie Simmons recommended doing 1,000 reps of a certain movement to get the tendons and ligaments to strengthen. Maybe these 2 who don't know each other were onto something?
