  • rice cakes and Gi index

    does anyone knows whether rice cakes are hi GI carbs or low? all the rice cakes i found are made from brown rice...so does this make them low GI?

    they are like a medium, because the brown rice, but then out of the 11 grams like 2 are from simple type carbs (sugars)-- but are definatly NOT something i eat unless training for a show, which i do for 1/2 the yerar usualy, get sick of them, lol, have a bag in cupboard since may

        Low GI = 55 or less
        Medium GI = 56 - 69
        High GI = 70 or more

        Glycemic Load Range
        Low GL = 10 or less
        Medium GL = 11- 19
        High GL = 20 or more

        Glycemic Load per day
