Isom sponsors

Guys, I also need to ask you all to support these sponsors. Here are some ideas: Buy the products (duh), like them on Facebook, post where you heard about them, call them, do whatever you can to support them and show them where that support is coming from. We are talking about $1500 in prizes. This isn't just some freebee give away. We need to show them that they are getting something for their money. We won't keep these great product around with that support.

One last thing, I need more ideas on how we can support and help promote these companies. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

could be a lame idea, but have a product review page on here? so the mods/ guys/girls that compete that use this site, have to do a detailed product review every so many weeks or something. or a product of the week/month or something, i dunno. at work so just a couple quick thoughts.

Doberman, I thought about this a lot and I think the point has to be driven home how valuable these sponsors are to the site. They support the day to day operations and allow members to compete for FREE products. Most importantly, they allow this site to be run as a FREE resource to everyone!

Personally, I highly value the community here on IM. It is well run (thanks to the INCREDIBLE Mods and and Skip) and discussions are kept civil. Members understand the chain of command and respect one another and if that respect isn't show, individuals are asked to leave or are banned. Do you see that kind of management on other board? NO! didn't thin so. Hell, I met Scott (Homon) through IM and I can honestly say that he has helped me turn my life around from more than just a physical standpoint. Aside from achieving incredible gains and working towards the best physique I have ever accomplished when I step on stage, he has helped me understand some things on a personal level that have allowed me to get through soem hard times. So do I feel connected to IM, you bet your ass I do! The last I want tot see is Im getting a bad name with sponsors because members do not support company products that are helping support IM.

Members (myself included) this is our call to arms to take action and make it worth the money these sponsors are putting forward to support IM.

With that in mind, I am suggesting that every ISOM submission include a verbal or written listing of ALL the sponsors. And preferably the website that the company can be reached.

I think it would also be nice to hold monthly contest for one sponsor whereby members post videos here and on youtube and Facebook as to why they want a certain product, how it would be useful/benefit their training/goals, and what sets that product apart from competitors. And if individuals have used the product, they can also detail their review. Of course, sponsors have to be on board with this, and they have to be accessible through social media, which now, every up and coming company should be since it provides a free medium for advertising and creating a conversation about their company. Once all of the videos are in, the sponsor is free to choose their favorite and who they think will support their product best. Ideally, it would be great for the members to then post a review of the product if they have used it or take a picture with the product for the company.

The above idea may be a long shot, but hey, why not?

C'mon guys and gals, if we want to keep the ISOM and IM up and running, lets show our support for the companies who make it possible!

Mentioning EVERY sponsor is a bad idea for several reasons.... One is that Skip basically said not to. That the main sponsor is who should be mentioned. Another reason is, and I don't mean this as a rip or anything else BUT I wanted to turn your video off last time.... You spent like 5 mins talking about the sponsors. I would be that most non members would not sit thru that whole video and the objective of the ISOM is to get traffic....to bring people here.

Members that win should be submitting product reviews. There is really no excuse for getting stuff for free and not being able to submit a 2 min product review video. Maybe some winners have but if they have....I must have missed it.
I would say to start a product review thread in the ISOM forum and members that win should post a video using the product.

Again, nothing said is meant towards any member in particular. Just my opinion.

My idea for the ISOM's was to do more of a rolling credit style list of sponsors (which i will be doing for this month to save all of you eyes )

I have also been insanely with both work and school over the past month so I haven't had time to do product reviews for a few of the products I planned. I will be doing reviews once this semester is up for MAG bars, Fat Gripz and Quest Bars.

Thanks for the idea. We actually have looked at this, but there are some problems with this. As far as having the mods/guys/girls doing product reviews I'd love to, but that means giving them product. Also something like this might only be limited to Site Sponsors that pay a premium. The other problem with this is, and not to be blunt, but giving away more product for this purpose isn't going to happen. These companies are in the business of selling products. Asking them to give away more product, especially for the smaller company isn't going to work. If I can think of a way to do this (perhaps a discount) I will.

The problem is all of these companies have people with there hand out trying to get something for nothing or at least very little. We don't want to be "that site". We want to show value in what we do and have the reputation that we can promote and sell product. The difference with us and other sites will be this value and the fact that we try to only work with quality companies that produce products that we use.

Of course I do product reviews when ever we get a new sponsor, but I may try to update these and make them more like commercials for the companies. I am currently looking towards getting a new computer and software to make it easier to do this.

Mental, as far as your second idea, I believe that may have merit. I had a similar idea. Once again we need to be careful to not drain our sponsors by asking for more product, but I may have a way around this. Unfortunately, a lot of the value I am talking about will have to probably come about while not asking for more from them. Thanks to everyone. Keep the ideas coming and everyone please touch base on facebook with these sponsors from time to time and mention IM.

Winners doing product reviews, then pasting it on THEIR (the sponsors) fb page with it clearly showing an IM logo and IM in the TITLE would be the best way to do it. 1 video is worth 10 spammy comments.

As far as I know, none have done it, but in their defense, I don't think it's in the rules for ISOM....if it is, icertsinly missed it. Maybe we need to make it a rule that when you win, you have 15 days to Fo a product review, either by post or video. If by chance a winner does not do their review, don't let them compete in another ISOM until they do.....seems fair to me. If a winner is gonna benefit by being a member here and having the capability to win prizes because of what the site has done, it's only fair for that person to have to help benefit the site by giving a review.....

I think product reviews from ISOM winners should be added, that would be huge. 15 days may be a bit short, but it at least should be before the next ISOM is voted on.

I'm also up for a product review forum. I think having one single place where folks could go to view the products we buy, and use every day, and see what others think is crucial. Even if we needed to just add a sticky in to each of the sponsors respective sections of the forum, it'd be something.

It was never mentioned as a rule or anything but I am just about certain that doberman asked that the winners do that when he started to get more and more company's involved. As I said though....never saw it as a rule but more as common sense...get shit for free, post a video. Hell he has even said he wants HONEST reviews so I take that to mean....if ya don't like something, say so.

I am all for the 'no vids, can't enter again' rule... I suggest there be no deadline, just that you can't enter a new ISOM until after you post reviews....that way if shit happens and it takes you a month...fine you will miss one contest....if you get vids up rt away....you can re-enter rt away.
