  • Health Tip: Taking Exercise to the Extreme

Some of us just may be guilty of this...
But we need to remember that life needs BALANCE!

Signs that you may be a compulsive exerciser
    October 6, 2011
(HealthDay News) -- There's nothing wrong with practicing healthy behaviors in moderation, and exercise is no exception. But you can overdo it.

The Nemours Foundation mentions these warning signs of being a compulsive exerciser:

1 Refusing to skip a workout even when tired, injured or sick.
2 Exercising out of obligation, rather than enjoyment.
3 Doubling the length of a workout after missing one.
4 Obsessing over weight and burning calories, along with weight loss.
5 Increasing exercise to make up for eating more.
6 Prioritizing exercise above seeing friends and family, and participating in social activities.
7 Allowing intensity and frequency of exercise to affect self-esteem.
8 Being unable to find satisfaction in physical accomplishments.

I failed. The only things that need to be balanced are:

    1 - Your Physique.
2 - The Barbell On Your Shoulders.
3 - The Breasts In Your Hands.

4 - and the dollar bills in the stripper's g-string. Always tip her on both sides. :future:

I used to violate a couple of these when I was younger, but I quickly got over it and kind of took a lighter attitude to training. I don't think it was a coincidence that my weight and strength gain both took off once I lightened up.

I am guilty of #1, but it is not an OCD thing. I simply just LOVE being in the gym and I hate missing a workout.

              I LOL'ed at number 3.
