  • [VIDEO] First deadlift session of the year - everything went better than expected

    Sup

My back has been bad for about 2 years, and I've pretty much just been squatting and deadlifting on and off, usually rotating between them but haven't pulled at all since november last year. I decided to try pulling just right before I went to the gym since my back had been pretty good lately. But surprisingly I was stronger than ever before, just shows how amazing squats are for whole body strength, since I've been able to squat heavy for the last few months.

    160 kg/353 lbs x 1
    180 kg/397 lbs x 1
    200 kg/441 lbs x 1
    210 kg/463 lbs x 1 - *PR*

Form broke down a bit on the last single, but I still don't understand how I pulled this off.

I understand that going for PRs on the first session after injury is stupid, but what can I say? I'm pretty stupid anyways

Impressive bro, very impressive. I have a bad back myself and I've mostly been doing RDLs because they feel a lot better on my lower back (still been able to squat, much like you). Might actually go for another pull sometime next month if my PT gives me the OK.

Thanks, man. Back injuries suck, I just hope I can keep deadlifting and stay injury free.

And if you've been squatting heavy your deadlift strength should not be that much down.
