  • Precooking chicken?

Ok, dont flame me for this, just lookin for help and advice if anyone wants to take a min to do so. Im a bonehead and not a great cook haha. . .

Usuially when i diet i have the foreman grill i can just cook my food and eat it whenever needed. Now, i gotta eat at work cuase i am a personal trainer 50hrs a week. Im always here. All i have is a microwave. How would i precook my chicken at home so its not fully cooked, and i could heat it up in the microwave at work when needed? Stuff i have to work with... foreman grill or an oven, no regular grill. I never had to do this before, and i know a lot of bodybuilders like to precook 4-5 days worth of chicken for the week to get all the cooking out of the way. This is what id like to do now. Lookin for a decently detailed walkthrough since im an idiot in some areas haha, but i need to learn. Cooking, packaging, storing, reheating (microwave), etc... thanx to any1 who can help

If theres anything else you guys prepare in one day that lasts 4-5 days please add that too so i have other options.

      TP-

My hubby knows alot about this, so he's dictating to me.

First off, cook your chicken completely. Do not use partially cooked chicken. That's a bad idea in general because you don't know how the grocery store treated that chicken before you got it.

Grill your chicken completely. Use lemon or lime (some kind of citrus) on the meat before or during cooking because it's a natural preservative. Put the all the cooked chicken in a large ziploc. Be sure to not stack the chicken. Put them in a single layer. (you could always put them in individual baggies too) Fill the sink with icewater and submerge the baggie into the water for about 15 minutes (this is flash chilling). Store them in the refrigerator.

When you get ready to eat it, just throw the whole baggie in the microwave. Do not open the bag or vent. The steam will keep the chicken juicy.

You could do the same with veggies. pre portion them into baggies with an ice cube. Put in the microwave without opening the baggie or venting.

      I hope this helps!

Thats what I do as well. I justed BBQ 30 chicken breasts lastnight, and there all sitting in the firdge in a large container, ready to be heated up and eaten this week. As for spices I like using the club house "le grill" stuff, the no added salt chicken grilling flavour is awsome, just sprink a bit of that on them, and they taste great.

Definitely cook your chicken completely on the foreman grill. You should be able to cook up enough chicken for the work week. I usually cook enough for lunches for the week on Sundays. I also cook rice, potatoes, green beans, etc and make complete meals in tupperware bowls for each day. When you're ready to eat just pop it in the microwave for 1-2 minutes and you're all set.

You can get some KC Masterpiece marinades for the chicken that don't need to sit that long. The foreman grill should be your new best friend.

If you put your chicken with other food, it will shorten the shelf life of the chicken by 1 or 2 days. If you put the chicken seperate, it should be good for 4-5 days.
