  • how to get into ketosis

whats up folks. ive decided to lean out a bit so i thought i would give low carb a try. ive had a few friends that have had excellent results in relatively short periods of time while doing this, so i figured why the hell not. the only time i tried it before i was on cycle and i could get into ketosis with little effort. now i am off cycle and it seems impossible to get there. ive been trying for a few days now, kept my carbs under 20g and still not even in slight ketosis. last week i tried the insulin route (3X 3iu every 2 hours), again didnt even get into slight ketosis. what do you folks do, and/or what the hell am i doing wrong. if this keeps up i will have to go on an actual diet and i am in no mood for that.

    cheers

I know that if your comsuming too much protein it can bring you out of ketosis, try uping your good fats a bit I find the best times to test for ketosis in the past was in the morning on an empty stomach, during my morning piss, and after a workout using the keto sticks.

You could also try no carbs for a day or two and see what it does for ya, possibly on non-training days.

thanks creator. ill try upping my fats first and see if that helps. keeping my carbs under 20g is rough enough, i think ill try 0 carbs as a last resort.

Yep its rough but in time your body will get used to it and it won't be as bad, you'll see, just give it time.

If you know for sure that your carbs are no more than 20 a day, you should be in ketosis within 3 or 4 days at most. It takes me 2 days now that I low carb off and on year round. One thing comes to mind: One time it seemed like I couldn't get into ketosis but found out I had some piss pour keto sticks that didn't work. Try a new brand or a new batch and see if that makes a difference. I agree with one of the other replies about getting more good oils and take it a little easier on the protein and see if that helps, too.

Ketosis isnt hard to reach.... zero carbs for about three days with normal training and maybe some vanadyl.... remember if you are not eating enough fat you wont register any ketones on your sticks, because the sticks read ketones that are present in your blood. If your fat calories are too low you'll be in ketosis but there wont be any ketones left in your blood because they will have been all used up for fuel....

So that why you sometimes don't see them, I always wonder that.
