  • Recommended bodyfat calipers?

Can anybody recommend good bodyfat calipers? I don't want to spend a fortune but I don't want to buy $5 dollar cheapies either. Any suggestions would be helpful.
    Thanks.

I purchased a brand new set of Lange Skinfold Calipers (regularly >$220) from ebay for $160. The Lange Calipers are probably the most popular calipers used by sports teams, colleges, etc...

i bought a set that comes with measuring tape and the caliper is actually computerized..... to be honest i rather of just gotten normal calipers its easier to get more accurate readings. everytime i pinch the same area over and over i get different numbers.

you can not repeatly pinch the same area in one sitting. the area disperses and compresses if you do this. i remember in college in a class i had, we spent like 2 weeks on the dynamics of skin fold testing. takes a lot of practice, and alot more goes into it then just pinching skin. an accurate reading is dependent on how good/experienced the tester is.

it is tough to learn from a book or off the web. you really need someone that knows what they are doing to take your measurements and/or teach you the proper techniques. and trust me most of these so called "personal trainers" in these gyms don't know their ass from their elbow, at least they don't in my area. if you go to a sports specific theapist, they can show you the right ways.
