Alright this is the situation. Im talkin to this chick i work with. Hottest girl iv ever known. She agreed to go out with me too. Im a PT at where we work, she works the desk. She is very fit and works out hard, but has like the tiniest bit of fat on her love handles and ass. She wants it gone and to lose like 10lbs. She didnt ask me, but she mentioned it once, so i wanna get it done for her. Please help me devise a fool proof diet, i wanna make sure i get results n impress her (not to get her, but cause i care). Also, il train her if need be, just tell me what to do please. I do know what im doin somewhat, but not great with women, and i know u guys are the people for the job to ask.

TP4U,
I think I'd go with Skip's magical Banana diet, if you can get Skip to give it to ya.... LOL
First of all, as you know, its a lot of work to start a diet from scratch. We also have no info. on her other than she's hot and you want to pork her (oh, yeah, and that you care, too... LOL).
What's her weight and approx. BF%? How often does she work out?... What does she do, etc...
What is she eating now?... (4 rice grains wrapped in a piece of lettuce in the morning... or is she hoggin' down the Mickey D's?....)
Gotta have some more info, man.
As far as generalizations, you know the standard prescriptions: 1g pro / lb /day. Kcal at 10kcal / lb / day. This will depend on what she's up to now (e.g., if she's weighing 130 and eating 500kcal / day, dropping her to 400kcal / day is not gonna help).
So, if you gave us some details or an outline of what YOU have in mind, we can tweak it.
FYI, I do know a "personal training" technique for spot reducing the love handles and gluteal areas, but its no appropriate for this forum...

Sure, ask the guys but not the women.....
Just try Atkins Diet on the IVth phase [visit www.atkins.com] , Atkins Diet is best suit for girls...
Are you serious?!?!?

Serious...
For just losing bodyfat [girls usually dieting only for losing bodyfat], doing Atkins is most suitable...
But the negative effect is...muscle athrophy...
Using low carb diet [Atkins Diet on whatever phase usually averaged not more than 100gr] on a long time will have negative impact to muscle...
If a girl want to losing bodyfat, but still keeping the muscle, just insert carb load on the 3rd day [ala Ultimate Diet by Lyle McD], or insert carb load on the saturday and sunday [ala Anabolic Diet], however, don`t bypass the post workout carb...Last edited by Justin_Sane; 06-03-2004, 09:33 AM.

Hmmm ok... Homonuculus, ur right... here ya goo....
19yrs old
5'4"
135lbs
approx 12-16%bf (give or take 4% cuase of c cups)guesstimate.
works out like 5 times a week, MOSTLY cardio. Some boxing with one of the trainers as cardio once a week. Not much muscular exertion. When she lifts weights, she doesnt go real hard. Kinda layed back approach.
very curvey, definition all over, just 2 problem spots so she says, butt and obliques. Id guess 5lbs of fat to be lost tops, but she wants 10lbs overall off.
And bro... the spot reduction "personal training" exercises dont work, we are dealin with a big V here

TP4U,
I would make the suggestion of a high protein diet with lower calories than she's taking in now. I bet it wouldn't hurt for her to lift more and do a little bit less cardio (a lot of women get into a bad cycle of eating too little and doing too much cardio so they hit a plateau and their bodies need a break from one or the other before they can kick that metabolism back into gear and get the weight to fall off).
Take a look at her diet with her and chances are that she will know what she's doing with her diet that isn't ideal. Sometimes it helps to have the obvious pointed out; for example, she may eat a sandwhich and chips everyday for lunch even though she knows that the chips are high in fat and aren't doing anything for her physique. Suggest fat free cottage cheese or pretzels instead.
She may be happy with her physique after she loses five pounds and then she can stop the dieting. Good luck with your date, too, BTW!

I typed out this long response & then saw hardasschica's which hits on my points. But since I've spent so much trouble typing it, I'll just post it & see what everyone says.
Agree, disagree.....either way educates me. So bring it on!! {tee hee}
Here tis;
I’ve been thinking about this post all day. I just need to mention a few things.
1. Diet is a 4-letter word! J
2. Dieting – any planned diet – is just not right. You adhere to a strict eating plan that may or may not help you loose weight. At first you loose water, which the average person does not realize. This keeps them on the diet but then they get upset when the numbers on the scale aren’t moving fast enough or at all.
3. If the person succeeds in loosing the weight…that’s great but only if they learn a thing or two. The avg person doesn’t and will start eating “normally” again. Their normal is usually high in sugar, carbs, fat, etc. And the weight comes right back on.
4. Which brings you to why dieting is so bad. The body is worried about being deprived and so what is put back on is put right into your fat cells. Creating more fat cells than what you had before you started dieting.
The reasons why I dislike the Atkins diet.
1. People do NOT read all of the information they are given. Therefore they will not follow the directions to a “T”. Not following the exact directions leaves your body in a worse state.
2. It is high in fat! And yet they tell people they are all good fats.
3. Not sure about the sugar.
I tried to find some points on the website but they only give you a smidge of info.
What do you guys think?
Oh, and about women……never, ever tell us what to eat, wear, say, do, etc., etc. or we will fight you J So I hope TooPowerful4u is not going to hand this girl a paper with a diet on it. It wouldn’t be pretty.

I had it posted a couple months ago but someone didn't like it all too much so I had to pull it down. Frankly, I think the diet would work well for both you AND her. She would LOVE it.
Now, on a serious note, Randy PMd me and told me to tell you that he would work with you on her diet and training pro bono. All you have to do is email him with pics of her so he can have a better idea of what he is working on.... oops, I mean working with. hehe

KRL is right. It isn't Atkins it is FATkins. Sure it may be beneficial in the short term for the obese but that is about it. In real life, people eat carbs. In real life, people NEED carbs. Especially ones who work out extensively. She is going to have to go low fat, not just low carb.
She is also right about diet being a 4 letter word. Nutrition plan is a better approach because it is a daily lifestyle.
Ok there is NO mistaking between 16% bf and 12% bf especially if she is as tiny as you say she is. At 12% she should have a nice six pack going and at 16% there is little chance of that.
You might want to also explain to her that even fitness models have a little chunk on them. Retouching is a beautiful thing. If you didn't see it in person and on stage then don't trust it.
