  • I am making an appointment....

I am getting everything around to set an appointment for UBI whatever it is called lol for about 2 weeks after my show which would be about the middle of July. My doctor is calling me back to talk about it, tomorrow. SuperSport had peaked my curiosity with this treatment and after dealing with PHN (chronic nerve pain) for about a year since I got shingles last year, I figured it may well help that, too.

Of course, it isn't covered under my top notch HMO (lol) so I have to pay out of pocket but I think it will be well worth it.

Thanks SuperSport. You and the information that you provide for this board are huge assets and I thank you.

Keep us posted skip. I'm still trying to find someone in my area that does UBI.

Well, it isn't looking too good. My doctor worked very hard to talk me out of it. I was unaware that on the same day that I contacted my doc (yesterday), there was an article in the Rocky Mountain News about a cat on the west side of Denver that was arrested after impersonating a doctor and doing these types of treatments. Apparently, he fucked up quite a few people with his less than experienced "practice". *sigh*

I am having a hard time finding someone in the area who does the treatment. I know there are some here but I just can't find them and don't know how to other than to cold call and I don't have the time for that right now.

If the insurance company does not cover this procedure, how much could one expect to pay for this? Thanks..

We can find someone...I have a new list coming in the mail. As soon as it arrives I will post all the docs on the list.

Too bad your Doc friend isn't hip to the therapy....most allopathic/conventional docs are blind to everything if it isn't taught in Med School or in JAMA.

You could tell him that Yale University uses it for cases of Cutaneous T-cell Lymphoma...a rare skin cancer I believe.
Dr. Edelson uses it there, calls it "photopheresis". He uses some exotic filters so only the white cells are irradiated-totally uneccessary as whole blood works fine. He did this to acquire a patent.

Typically it is around 100-125 bucks....

If the MD adds in an infusion of h202(hyd. peroxide)-which makes the treatment even more potent-it is around 150-175 for both UBI and h202.

I did talk to an AIDS patient at my MD's office where her insurer was paying 75% of the bill.....
