I was thinking maybe on day in the middle of the week, say Wednesday, add 500kcal to my normal intake and see if that helps kick it up bit. Suggestions?
That might be your tolerance level to carb intake kicking in. If you play with it enough you'll find the mark in which you can continue to maintain or gain strength and still drop weight.

Don't be afraid venture a bit from whats on paper. You might be surprised. It took me a couple weeks but I was finally able to nail down the my tolerance level very well.

Correct. If you are maintaining strength on a bodybuilding type of training protocol, it is almost impossible to lose muscle mass. Your strength is your first gauge as to whether you are losing too quickly or if you can speed things up.

Off the top of my head, I can't think of one exception to this.

I sort of understand what your saying, but sort of not haha. Do you mean I should adjust my carbs upwards/downwards during the weekend? Or are you thinking I might be able to tolerate more carbs during the week?

Just read that thread you linked up creator and I found it really very interesting. Along the lines of metabolic rate then, do you guys agree/see merit in measuring your body temp. immediately upon waking as a gauge of metabolic rate? I've read (Poliquin maybe?) that a 1 degree drop indicates maybe a 10% drop is BMR. Do you think the waking temperature/metabolism relationship is valid? I may consider tracking this for a while because I am still gaining strength on my program while having these low calories. So, theoretically, I could measure my temp. to pay attention to metabolic slowdown and only increase calories/protein while dieting if I start to lose strength.

          Does this seem valid?

Thought that was an interesting read also regarding meal frequency from David Barr.
