  • DEXA Scan at just under 8 weeks out

My DEXA scan has me at 8.1%. That is down from 11.9% at 14 weeks but I am up 2.3 pounds of lean muscle mass. That ain't all bad. hehe

I also dropped just under 6% in my trunk region. About 90% of my bodyfat loss in the last 6 weeks was from the trunk region.

I am feeling pretty good with my condition right now. Full, tight, strong and about 1200 cals a day higher than I was at this weight last year. Also, last year I was doing double cardio sessions at this point. LOL

Man, I feel so confident and have made such obvious changes - even moreso than I had previously thought. It just makes me nervous sometimes when things go toooo well and too easy, ya know??

      We shall see.....

I hear ya, man. Just stay steady and easy. This is just the pay off for the effort that you put into understanding how all the pieces of show prep come together.

No fancy stuff and you'll be fine.

Anyone can become angry - that is easy, but to be angry with the right
person, to the right degree, at the right time, for the right purpose,
and in the right way, that is not easy.

Where do you get your scans done? Is it expensive?

okay well SKIP being one of my closest friends (even though I never see him anymore) is looking down right incredible. I actually saw him just a few days ago. sometimes people , including SKIP, don't realize the gains and improvements they make because they see themselves everyday. well his arms are huge, rounded out, full and alot more matured then this time last yr. granted all I could see was arms, shoulders, and calves but rest assured that everything else is at par with his visible improvements. props to my boy . come his next show everyone better be on their game to stand a chance or it's lights out.

Now THAT is good to hear. : ) Thanks, bro. Again, my youngest daughter (6 next week) had to point out yet AGAIN when musclebelly left my house the other night that HE has bigger muscles than her dad and if I want to win my "muscle show" in the summer that I better workout harder than he does. The innocence of a child's tongue. LOL

I refrain from talking shit, anymore, but I can say that I am confident that I have made obvious improvements to showcase for the judges and you can bet I will best my condition from last year. I am constantly looking for ways to get tighter and harder so I am excited about this year, in that regard. Now, if I get beat it will be almost strictly on size alone.

                  We shall see......

I don't know if you know who Carol Semple is but she is a Fitness Pro that lives here in Denver, too. She owns Life Measure Labs. They are mobile and they take their equipment to different gyms, athletic clubs, etc, in the metro area. I don't have to pay for the scans as they are sponsoring me (always cool hehe) but the price is around 50 bucks for the scan. I can say, however, that before they offered to sponsor me that I was more than willing to pay the 50 bucks. It is so accurate in relation to the other options for body comp AND it is very practical and convenient. You don't have to get into a tank of water without your clothes. You just lay down on a table and lay still for 5 minutes while the machine scans you from head to toe, making about 4 passes over your body. It even breaks down your bodyfat for each region of your body - ie: left vs. right arm, left vs. right leg, trunk, etc.. My limbs stayed pretty much the same but I dropped just under 6% in my trunk region which I thought was very good to know.

I recommend this scan for anyone that is looking for the most accurate body comp measurements. Even if you are in a different area than I am and Life Measure Labs, I am sure that if you look, you will find a DEXA company that can do the scans for you at a reasonable cost.
