  • May 8th

Saturday May 8th will be my first contest. While I won't be in the running for the overall I have put myself into the best shape I have ever been in. Skip has molded a novice lifter into someone who will not be laughed at when he steps under the lights. To date I have lost over 50lbs of Fat this is without any water weight. This board has been more help than I can convey. I appreciate the comroderie and support I get here everyday. Just to read what people who are driven like me think is a big help.

I have always been a heavy kid-and man I guess. Pushing over 20% bodyfat for most of my adult life. I am now under 9 and closer to 6%. I still have some skin around my middle but even that has gotten tighter lately. I will have some pics in the transformations forums after the show.

Good luck with your show. Sounds like you made quite a transfromation. Can't wait to see the pics.

Let me get my two cents in here on Rugbythug:

I have worked with alot of guys and as much as I don't want to take anything away from any of the guys I have worked with, Rugby has worked harder than ANY of them. That might not sit too well with some of my clients but that is the reality. He had the longest road and certainly the hardest, too. He is terribly sensitive to carbs so we had to go low carb VERY early in his prep. As he stated, bodyfat was high and his body was USED to this as he has had his bodyfat levels higher than usual for years. His metabolism fought us tooth and nail the entire way.

There were times when I would wonder (though only briefly) as to whether we could make it or not. As I would wonder this, I would be reminded that this guy would do ANYTHING to get to his goal. I feel like I have seen alot but following him through his prep has shown me that flat out determination and persistence will ALWAYS pay off. I will add that throughout this entire prep, he has kept his head and not whined, bitched, pissed or moaned ONE time that I can think of.

My hat is off to you, bro. No matter the outcome of this show, you are already a success when you put one foot on that stage.

RB, it appears that you have already won. The outcome of the show is inconsequential to having achieved not only your best condition ever (and from the sounds of Skip's testimonial, against the odds) but also the repsect of your peers!
                        Enjoy your success! Congrats!
