  • What benefits would drinking and smoke have on weight training and/or body building?

I went to Balley's fittness for the 1st time ever. They had a nice little gym.

Anyway, my buddy is a personal trainer there, He pointed out a van in the parking lot. He said the guy who owns that van drinks a 40oz of Mickey's in the parking lot right before his workout. I was stunned.

Then he went on to say that some of the other trainers smoke pot before working out. Why would they do this? To improve concetration? To improve hunger?

I don't get it. I'd be afraid I'd kill myself going to the gym drunk or high.

Sounds stupid to me. It is probably just something they "heard" or "read" somewhere, and gives them an excuse to drink or smoke pot.

I will add this to the list of "The Many Reasons That I Won't Train At Bally's", list.

For Christ's Sake, YOU must be drunk or high with all of the weird posting you are doing. LOL

Many years ago I trained at a gym with a promising National level competitor that would regularly smoke weed before he trained. He said it made him feel no pain so he would train harder.

            I never understood it myself.

Come to think of it I believe he is or was in jail for drug charges.
