  • jay cutler's new program?

lots of meals. 5 hours of sleep 3-8a.m. then a couple of naps? what do you guys think of this. i thought you really needed a good 8 hours sleep at a time to give yourself the most to build muscle and repair tissue. can anyone explain this, or is this a new thing? good or bad? any input www.jaycutler.com

Who knows what his reasons are, but going to bed at 3am isn't a good idea in my book.

I know I read recently in his MD column that he's changed things up completely in his training/diet. He used to get 10 hours of sleep a night + naps so 5 seems strange. I didn't read that. Ronnie gets like 6 hours a night which goes to show maybe it's not that important to get the standard 8? Or maybe Ronnie's just an inhuman mutant freak from outter space. I also heard Jay changed his diet to include a lot more complex carbs and less sugars. IMO, his new routine isn't working, as was shown at the Arnold. He looked better when he was on his old program.

Does not really matter to me. What Jay does has no bearing on my life or decisions on my training. Everyone is different.

you are right, but if you take portions of everyone elses routine to try and it works for you, then you got something new. thats what i do. disect others bull shit and form my own opinion
i agree jay looked alot thicker back with the old program

Another guy stealing something from me. lol

I sleep damned near the exact amount - 3am to 8am with a short nap in front of the tv about 6pm or so.
                  I have no problems growing.

Now, in the offseason, I need more sleep but not much more.

Amen brotha, I havent slept more than 4 hrs a night for the past 4 weeks!!! Yeah baby! One thing everyone failed to mention, Jay is a top Class PRO...all he has to do is eat, sleep, workout, and shit. He doesnt have a real job etc. he may have appearences and PR work and stuff like that, but his whole life it dedicated to one thing...GROWING! I mean hell if BB paid my bills I would do the same thing eat every damn 3 hrs like him and lift that is the life!

wouldnt that be the life, your job is to eat and go to the gym. everyone pay you to use the products. compared to other sports, this one has been the most expensive for me. golf is a close second lol.

I saw a sleep study a while ago saying that several small naps throughout the day is better than a strait 8-10 hours a night.

I'm not allowed to sleep more than a few hours anyway so 5 hours a night seems like a good nights rest to me.

This is almost certainly related to the spurt of GH that occurs in the early part of a sleep session.

Gee, I wish Randy weren't out of town. I am sure he would have something to add. Of course, I would have to go get my thesaurus to understand his response, as usual. lol
