  • Cutting Question

When cutting, what do you cut your caloric intake down to? Also how low do you cut back on your carbs?
I'm just talking here about cutting while not on cycle...Or cutting after a bulking cycle...

You can try a few different things, but all of them may not work for you though so you'll have to figure which one is best for you.

Try lowering your calories by about 10% of your daily calorie requirements. If you need 3,000 calories each day start at 2,700. See how you respond to that.

When dropping carbs everyone does different things. I think Randy does zero or close to zero for 4-5 days then carbs up (Randy clarify this if I'm off please).

Some guys do carb cycling where you start at say 200 g of carbs on day 1 and then cut it by 50% each day down to zero carb day. Then repeat.

Keep in mind that on days where the carbs are lower you'll increase you're protein in order to reach your total calories for the day.

          Remember this, each.....

          Fat gram = 9 calories
          Protein gram = 4 calories
          Carb gram = 4 calories

Here's a place that will help calculate your daily calorie requirements. Read the note towards the bottom about accuracy.

Just to add to Marks fine assessment, you 1st need to establish your current baseline so that you know what and where to cut back. I would suggest writing down everything you eat for 3-4 days to get any average of your daily caloric intake.
