  • At age 50- this is how I got turned on to gear and body building boards..,

I,m kinda bored just here in my office right now--so i always wanted to tell this story anyhow..,
2 yrs ago,at 48 yrs of age,I never really knew of even heard of the word gear--and my lifting was really nothing ,maybe i would do curls and bench 5 days a week for a few weeks and thats it--anyway--I use to take my wife(one of the hottest babes in long island) into the city to see this very progressive plastic surgeon--he is very cool---we were talking one day about his dad whos 70 and in great shape due to hormone therpy that he prescribes---after talking for awhile he gave me a script for oxandrine--I never heard of it--so i went on it for 2 months --felt good--and starting looking up on the internet--steroids- thats when ,by accident,i found body building boards--hooked up with some good mods(got fina) and got into my first cycle (test/fina)--also hooked up with a trainer, iron addict, and relized everything ive done was basically a waste of time lifting wise--it was he who turned me onto low volumne, heavy weight--since then i,ve been on heavy cycles(1gtest wkly/fina 150 eod/dbol)
    2 yrs ago I was 210 6' 40"waist and 15"arms and could only benched 180 2x--now,I,m 235 36"waist--arms 18 1/2" and last bench was 300 for 6 reps--and now i,m a total squat head devouted to the power rack cage.
One last thing--looking good and feeling good has been such a huge change for me--none of my office coleagues or friends do any exercises--they see me and cant believe it--even my 5 kids say it all the time--wow--you look good dad--and with all the test(1gwkly) my libido is so sky high--my wife is in heaven----

I owe it all to these boards and to all the guys that have put up with my countless naive questions--really--THANKS GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!

Great story, Tugs...appreciate you sharing. Iron Addict has a great post about Gear Use Truisms that I saw over on PM, which Im sure many (if not all) have seen, but its a pretty good read and a nice refresher...

(did some searching below is the link)

Gear Use Truisms by Iron Addict I was on another board reading the many posts by people that really don't understand some of the basic truisms of AS use and decided to write a few of these ALMOST universal "isms" down. 1. The more gear you do the more you grow. Sorry I know many of you didn't...

Nice post tugs, glad to see you've decided to take back control of your life. I'm glad you feel great/healthy at 50.

I can't imagine what life would be like without exercise.

So that's where I've seen your name (GotFina). I was like member number 36 there.

We are somewhat similar, at least in age - I just turned 51. Only difference is I've been in the Weight Game a LOOOONG time.

I started working with weights pretty seriously to gain strength for motorcycle racing - cross country, desert and ISDE back in 1978. By 1985, my passion for the weights turned towards bb'ing and bikes went on the backburner.

tugs, that's a great story. It's always nice to see older (not saying you're old here) people regain control over their lives, especially when it comes to fitness. There are so many great benefits to weight training. Congratulations on sticking with it.
