  • The OFFICIAL Peyton Manning thread

Peyton Manning eats hGH pellets like M&Ms. Discuss.

But seriously, what are your thoughts on what looks like is going to be a big scandal for one of the best QBs in NFL history?

Someone is trying to ruin him. And I don't see why. He's had nothing but integrity his entire career and I don't think anyone has ever said anything negative about the guy. This news was shocking to me and the allegations don't seem fair.

Even if he did use gh, it didn't really do much for his performance. I couldn't care less if someone uses it for a major injury if it gets them back in the game faster. We have the tools to shorten people's time off the field and in an age of technology, we should be using it. We are talking about people's careers being cut short because of an accident.

Only for major injuries though. Followed by testing for continued use. And monitoring by someone other than a team doctor. For Peyton's neck surgery, the stuff would have probably done wonders in regenerating tissues.

Here's a question maybe someone can answer for me:
I was under the impression that GH didn't do much in terms of boosting athletic performance. I just thought it helped build muscle and aid recovery, but I thought it didn't increase strength like, say, tren would. Am I wrong?

And my gut instinct is to believe Manning. Although maybe that's just because I'm from Tennessee.

I say lift the ban let and these these guys take whatever they want at whatever dose they want. It's their lives. If I could take something that will get me a multi-million dollar contract, believe you me, I'm taking it. I'll deal with the fines and suspensions.

But, as a Charger fan I am obligated to say... I hate Peyton and especially his mentally handicapped brother Eli. That's all. For now.

In my experience it has not increased strength. Just recovery and its prevented extra body fat accumulation in off season. So that's why I say it should be allowed but monitored. But I'll get to another thing when I respond to Tlopez.

If we allow players to take whatever they want, then the guys who don't want the health risk are pressured into taking these things because everyone else is. That's not fair to the guys who do want to do things naturally. So what you have eventually is a non drug tested Major League Baseball and a drug tested. Then there will be ones where pine tar is and isn't legal, then ones where metal bats are allowed and so on and so on.

          Kinda sounds like powerlifting federations

I've really gotten to the point in my thinking about professional sports that they're already completely sacrificing their bodies and their health to make money. What exactly further damage could letting them use AAS possibly cause? :noidea:

I lol'd at "his mentally handicapped brother, Eli."

Peyton has too much integrity to lie about it but... admitedly the testing for gh in 2011 was easy to get around in the nfl as I had first hand experienxe.

He'll get off with minimal damage to his legscy. The public adores him and his q-score is tops among athletes.

He's carefully crafted an "aw shucks" public persona....that makes us feel like "hey hes just like one of us" unless there overwhelming evidence this goes away
