  • Could you survive? Just a fun topic.

First off, i am not an avid hunter or outdoorsman. But, I have shot / killed / fished my own food. I have skinned and eaten a rabbit / dove / boar and gutted fish and enjoyed the "taste" of victory.

What have you all killed and eaten?

Who cannot do it? And why?

Edit: I did not choose this avatar. It was given to me by Dr. Sammich

Could you survive? Just a fun topic.

Lots of ducks, geese, doves, pheasant.... I'm a beef girl so never hunted deer or anything simply because I won't harvest what I won't eat. I give a lot of goose meat to my labs too, purest pet food. They love the treats!!

As I am from OZ (Australia) I have eaten kangaroo and emu. In fact roo meat has been at the supermarket for about 5 years now. I have eaten a variety of bugs. In Thailand I ate something that was not beef as advertised but I am sure was dog.

I would try most sorts of meat. I know some people are vegetarian and I am cool with that choice. I have nothing against them and would be cool about eating a vegetarian if I was staving.

I grew up hunting deer, squirrel, rabbit, boar. I've killled and eaten (after it was cooked - not sure how hard core you're going for here). I haven't cared for the taste of any of it. As I got older, I much prefer to pull the trigger than actually kill, so I don't hunt anymore, just shoot skeet, targets, ripe fruit, etc.

Add: I still fish and crab, and will eat that.

And: Jen is the fckn bomb!

I'm jealous of you guys, I am city boy. I haven't killed anything. Except a few squirrels as a kid. I kinda feel guilty about that now, as I have squirrels running around all the time in my back yard.

Ok I admit I plink squirrels in the yard cuz they torment my dogs. I won't eat them though, the wild fox and coyotes have to eat too 😉
