  • Not Neccessarily The News

This thread is a take-off on the old HBO program "Not Neccessarily the News".

Do you have some entertaining but worthless news to report?

    Post it right here!

    Enjoy-

The most expensive cocktail in the world is the "Sidecar" at the Paris Ritz Hotel.

The Sidecar is listed in Guiness as the world's most expensive drink-and it got that way by containing booze that survived the Franco-Prussian War of 1870 and the first and second World Wars. "The drink contains liquor that has been in this hotel for over 100 years", says head bartender Colin Field. It is made with 50% Ritz Fine Champagne, 1865 Cognac, 30% Cointreau, and 20% lemon juice.

The drink costs $415 per glass.

Wow....that would be a buzz killer right there!

    Duct tape to the rescue-

When a passenger aboard a United Airlines flight from Hawaii became agitated and started acting strangely, he was restrained with handcuffs but managed to escape them. Passengers then subdued him and used duct tape to bind him up. The duct tape held up and the man was handed over to authorities when the plane landed in LA. FBI agent Matt McGlaughlin said the Austin TX man was held for 72 hours for psychological examination and could face charges.

      Banned Barbie

Barbie dolls may be the rage for young girls here in the US, but the busty babes are banned in Saudi Arabia. Religous police in that country say the dolls are a threat to morality and their revealing clothes are offensive to Islam. Sheik Abdullaal-Merdas said the enforcers from the committee for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice go to shopping centers and confiscate dolls from sellers and impose a fine.
"It is no problem that little girls play with dolls, but these dolls should not have the developed body of a woman and wear revealing clothes", he said.

        Crocks in Singapore

Singapore, a small southeast Asian city-state with a population of 4 million, also had at least 3 wild cocodiles roaming the streets. A crock was captured near a popular downtown bar, another one near a large housing estate, and a third was caught sunbathing in a large urban park. Officials don't have a clue where the crocks are coming from. Wild crocks are very rare in Singapore.
"They really don't swim, but they can surf on the waves, and by surfing, they can travel over 180 miles", says Robin Lee, an expert from Singapore's Long Kaun Hung Crocodile Farm.

I am sure KR can add some great posts to this...
Anyone can become angry - that is easy, but to be angry with the right
person, to the right degree, at the right time, for the right purpose,
and in the right way, that is not easy.
