  • Prison Exercise

Many people are sent to prison every year. I have visited numerous prisons but had never seen anything like this untill today.

They are somewhat famous for it. Did you ever see "This Is It"?

Prison in the Philippines looks pretty constructive.

        That's kinda awesome.

Imagine what it would look like if one day those guys took over the prison. Their rooftop protests would be a bunch of guys dancing "Who's Bad ?!".

lol. I take it that's minimal security prison.

It makes sense, having people do something constructive will always be a great rehabilitation tool, getting them to buy into it would be interesting to know.

What surprised me was seeing men and women together in the first video as well as the provocative dances.

Prisons in America aren't for rehabilitation. They are for Punishment. Also, you have very little chance of surviving, not to mention prospering outside of Prison once you are released and paid your debt to society. So most, end up going back.

This is the old school train of thought. While punishment is still intended, there are also many avenues of rehabilitation for offendors while incarcerated. If they were strictly for punishment, the prisoners would be breaking rocks all day like in years past.

I know several former inmates who have done very well for themselves after being released from prison. Most go back because they don't remove themselves from the atmosphere that wound up getting them there in the first place. The SMART ones do get away from the element and can live good lives if they really strive towards it.....

And no, I absolutely do not think that ALL prisoners CAN be rehabilitated, or even want to be......

Well said. There are alot of bad people and alot of dumbasses that have made mistakes. Giving somebody something to believe in; dancing, weightlifting, school, cooking, whatever can change lives. Alot of people are just going to be in and out of prison, that's the life they will have and that is what it is. This dance stuff is actually a super progressive thing for them to be doing and I'm surprised I've never heard about that before. That would encourage good behavior, discipline to practice, relationship building, communication skills, and help following orders, skills that transfer to the real world.

If they really didn't give a shit than they would just break rocks, dig holes, or some other repetitive joke. Giving people MEANINGFUL activities is one of the successful means of treatment for any sort of rehab program.

I read all this things in physical health and fitness guides about exercise. They say you have to do this and eat this. But I'm fairly sue that prisoners don't have the time to make these. They eat 5 whole egg in the day and others items like that,I see some fairly muscular people come out of prison. Thanks for sharing!!!
