    Heck, Metorologist In-Human here:

Hurricane Ivan is just off the sothern tip of Puetro Rico 135 south moving west at 6 mph, with 136 mph winds catagory 5 now, 996 mb, barometric 27.82, should be getting to Puerto Rico by Tuesday, the models show its path to just missing Rico and maybe just coming ashore at the nothern tip of Florida, but we are maybe 7 days away from US land fall. So far not sure if it will go Gulf Coast or Northern Florida for land fall...

KR has been talking to SM on the phone. He's up in GA. He started a thread about him. I think there's another threat about G.

Well, wherever it hits it's gonna be bad. Found this 5 day storm track of the storm. No telling what it's gonna do.

Because of the unstableness air from Francis it may push Ivan south to the gulf and hit Texas or Louisana, so they are still up in the air as of right now...

This will be full blown cat 5 for sure with no cold water in its path it will be wicked where ever it hits, and just think 3 more months of Hurricane season to go.

Its been predicted that 7 Hurricanes cat 3 or stronger will hit the US this year and 11 Tropical Storms...

For a long time now on the TX coast they've been talking about the BIG one to hit soon. Ivan may be it. It's been so long, since we've had a big big storm hit, people forget how deadly they can be & they stay home & wait it out. I'm so glad we moved inland now.

No thank you... I'd rather have the hurricane. At least you know when it's coming!

Ironically, I'm reading a book about the hurricane of 1900 that hit Galveston, also known as Isaac's storm, the book is called The Windows of Heaven. They missed all the signs a hurricane was coming. They didn't give the warning to leave the island until it was way too late. Before the hurricane hit, Galveston was on it's way to being a major city, bigger than Houston. When the hurricane hit, that dream was gone. people moved inland after that & never turned back. When you go to Galveston, there is a place on the water, Ocean's Grill (great restaurant) It has pictures on the wall of Murdocks Bath House that used to stand in the same spot before the storm washed it away. So very interesting to see & read about this storm. The stories from the survivors are amazing.

Makes me thankful for technology & early warning systems.

Odd thing is that a hurrican has not landed in Georgia in a very long time-I think maybe 100 years.

Florida gets crushed on a regular basis but it seems as where I live has been a magnet for these storms for the past decade.

Hurricane Dennis landed here 5 years ago then went out to sea, turned around and came back and landed here again a few days later.

Central Florida checking in. We survived again, luckily.

Ivan is possibly coming our way now. Maybe he will turn and go out to sea. I guess we see come Thursday. Weather people said they won't know until then.

Come to Brazil ! No earthquakes, very few storms ever .. but be prepared for the cold as our winter gets down to a gizzly 60 Degrees F.
