  • Between the Covers...

I was just thinking...what are you guys and gals out there choosing as reading material for this week? Anything interesting? Do we have any as yet undiscovered niche fans of anything in here?

I'm halfway thru Vince Flynn's Term Limits. Then I'll start on his Power series. Have Nicholas Sparks' The Notebook and Anne Rice's The Witching Hour sitting on the nightstand also. Not to mention I'm working on one of my own.

Well you be on Skip's diet and every cookbook in your house will be torn to shreds in less than a month, try eating bottoms of leather shoes and drinking nothing but water for days at at a time, its agony...

Acknowledged. Didn't realize you were slicing at this point. Do you have a contest coming up? That's gotta be tough for a guy that thinks an appetizer is a 15 lb turkey with all the fix'ins.

Kitchen Confidential by Anthony Bourdain. Awesome book. Tells the truth about the restaraunt business and what really goes on. Lets you know what it really means when restaraunt's advertise "specials". Just an all around good read. I recommend it to anyone interested in culinary arts. No recipes or how good to cook reading. Strictly about the business.

Well I had to make an adjustment to my show schedule due to a major problem, it seems from being obese my whole life and never being cut ever and this being my first show, losing some 28 lbs so far I have a hanging skin problem, have been trying certain rememdies but it looks as though I will need to carry a very low BF% for quite some time to see if my old skin can rebound from the damdge I cause it my whole life, no sun, just fatness.

So I am trying to get down to 9-10% BF by this December carry this into next year by adding muscle from Jan-July but staying at this BF% then starting my diet in July for the same show December '05.

It has been a heartbreaker but this is what has kept me from competing all these years the skin thing, it has always had me worried, now its coming true, so I will see how it turns out.

                          Thanks for asking...

Wow, that skin deal can be very difficult to deal with. Hopefully it will recover and tighten up. Although the longer a person is large, the harder it is for the skin to bounce back. Hopefully it won't come to this, but......you may consider having the excess hacked off surgically. That of course is a brigde you'll have to cross down the road after you are down to your contest BF%. Keep us posted and good luck.

Thank you for that and I do not think I will even look at the surgery aspect of it, I just don't feel that I would do that...
