What's lent?

It'sa catholic practice that lasts until Easter. No meat on Fridays (hardcore catholocs fast), and supposed to give up something to symbolize Jesus 40 days in the desert and resisting the devils temptations......something like that at least.

But seriously, if you recognize something is having a negative impact on your life enough that it warrants giving up for a period of time, why not just make that a lifestyle change for good?
