An interesting part of this admittedly short news story is that it does not address why a student who seemingly has such poor understanding of the English would be in a class where he / she is likely missing nearly everything being taught.

In San Diego our city and state buildings fly the Mexican Flag last time I looked. Now that is BS.

Dont most members here from the USA have parents, grandparents, great grandparents or great great grandparents that came here without the ability to speak the language? My wife's grandfather immigrated from Mexico, and he will go on a fucking RANT about this. He had to learn English to assimilate, joined the military and then worked for BNSF Railway for 35 years before retiring.

He HATES the way people come to the country and expect to be catered to in their own language/culture/whatever. Tradition should be preserved and followed at home, but if you're interacting in business or education you'd damn sure better do it in English, following the usual American protocols.

He is full of shit about 80% of the time, cuz that's how old guys do it, but he's spot on here IMO. He has a unique and legit perspective, and I don't disagree with him at all.

It is not right when you come here and don't learn the language. That being said, I think the reason it happens so much now is because we are afraid to not be politically correct, like Redskull said.....I believe, we need to be somewhat tolerant of all races and immigration to an extent, but catering to them only worsens the situation.....I have had and still do have immigrants working for me. I made it perfectly clear in the beginning that I needed English printed or typed invoices, and an English speaking lead man on all my jobs....they are here earning American $$$$, the least they can do is be able to speak with the guy who's paying them.....lol

I was told (but don't know for sure) that they play the Mexican National Anthem as part of a contract agreement because the radio stations use certain antennas that are on the Mexico side of the border.

Funny thing is that Mexicans (in Mexico) won't recognize him as Mexican. My friend was born in Mexico and moved to the U.S. when he was 10. He says people basically call him a "sell out", and that he's not ea real Mexican.

I think it's funny to see people like Tito Ortiz, representing a country they never lived in.
