  • Ny giants!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)

They should fire their coach, they should fire their defensive co-ordinator, their QB is not "elite", their defense isn't any good, they can't run the ball, they can't BLAH BLAH BLAH....heard it all this year..... Well they do have one thing this year that no other team has....a RING!

Shows what can happen when a group of men play as a team, BELIEVE in each other, KNOW that if the game is on the line...their QB WILL put them in position to win the game.

My Giants are Super Bowl champs!!!!!!!

That's 2 seasons now that they shoulda fired their coach. They were dead in the water 5 weeks out both Super Bowl seasons and squeaked in playing great football the last 4-5 weeks. I'm an Eagles fan but I gotta give props. Eli is legit. As bad as he's been a few years he has def proven himself. I found myself expecting them to win when they got the ball back. The team feels that way too, which is a great feeling for a team to have....that type of confidence is contagious.....

        Congrats Giants and Giant fans......

My brother now has bragging rights which is the worst part of this whole deal. Not only am I gonna hafta deal with his mouth all year, but also until the Eagles (IF THEY EVER) win the big game....lol. Damn!!

How will Giants roster look next season? (10 Ratings) Posted by Ken Palmer on February 16, 2012 12:56 PM ET
INDIANAPOLIS – We know, we know, they just won the Super Bowl. There’s no reason to worry about next year just yet. Let’s enjoy this one for a while, right? Not really. You had better believe Jerry Reese and staff have already started to think about whom they want back and whom they’re willing to let go. It’s an extreme rarity in the salary cap era for a championship team to remain mostly intact.

                Just listen to Linval Joseph.

“I want to see everybody stay together but unfortunately that’s not how it usually works,” he said. “I’m just glad that the team we have now got it done. Everybody has a ring and you can’t take that away from us.”

However, due to the youth of this club, it’s quite possible that most of the key parties will be back next season. Take a few minutes out of your celebrating to start planning for next year…and then it’s right back to partying.

We’ll break all the Giants free agents (and potentially unhappy players still under contract) into three categories of where we expect them to be next season. All players are unrestricted free agents unless noted otherwise.

                They’ll be back

Tom Coughlin – He already said he’d like to come back if the Giants will have him. You better believe they’ll have him. He’s going to be able to coach in New York until he decides he no longer wants to.

Osi Umenyiora – We know he wants lots more money even though he’s still under contract. But we also know that the Giants saw just how much better and dangerous that defense is with him a part of it. Jerry Reese will find a way to keep him happy.

Terrell Thomas – He’s their best cover corner and he’s coming off an injury, which will hurt him on the free agent market. He’ll be back no doubt.

Perry Fewell – Fortunately for him and his family the Steve Spagnuolo rumors only lasted a few weeks. He’s unlikely to land a head job this offseason so he’ll be back at the helm of the Giants defense, Super Bowl ring on hand.

Chase Blackburn – You had better believe that the Giants won’t make this mistake twice. Sure he’ll have to compete for the starting MLB job, but Blackburn came in to save the day and you can bet they’ll do all they can to make sure he’s in position to do so again next season – but this time from opening day on.

Dave Tollefson – Why not? He does everything they ask and then some. It’d be hard to imagine him not back in the fold.

Steve Weatherford – They were fortunate they were able to get him. Can’t imagine they’d let him go.

Will Blackmon – He’s done enough in his two stints with Big Blue that he’ll probably be back next season.

David Carr – Where does he want to go and who would they rather have? As long as Carr doesn’t think he’ll get a chance to start elsewhere, he’ll likely be back.

Michael Coe – Forced into action well before they were hoping to need him, Coe actually held up okay before getting injured. They should be able to get him back on the cheap.

Jonathan Goff – He might not end up winning the starting MLB spot that he had heading into last season, but it’d be surprising if they don’t at least work out something and get him into camp. He and Blackburn could be battling for the starting
                spot.

Bruce Johnson – He’s the club’s only restricted free agent and they seem to like him enough that he’ll probably be around come training camp time.

                50/50

Mario Manningham – This will probably come down to how much loyalty Manningham has to the Giants for giving him his first shot in the league and being patient as he learned the ropes. Surely there will be teams looking to add him to their
offense, especially after that catch in the Super Bowl. This one seems like a toss-up at this point but don’t be surprised if they lose him.

Kareem McKenzie – There’s no way they’re going to give him the same big money they did when they lured him from the Jets, but they’d probably like to have him back as insurance if at all possible. It might just be a matter of if he finds any
                other suitors.

Brandon Jacobs – He’s under contract, but it seemed like a slam dunk around midseason that he’d be gone at season’s end. But maybe the Super Bowl run helped both sides as far as seeking a continuation of this occasionally volatile relationship.

Kevin Gilbride – He’s always looking for a head coaching gig and might be willing to take a college job. There’s no doubt Coughlin would like him back.

Aaron Ross – He pretty much exceeded expectations after he was thrust into the starting lineup. But they haven’t exactly loved his entire body of work and probably wouldn’t mind going younger and cheaper, if they can.

Rocky Bernard – Before the season it seemed very unlikely they’d be interested in keeping him once his contract came up. But he played so well and they still obviously have no idea what they have in Marvin Austin that it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see Bernard back next year.

Deon Grant – It’s quite possible, fresh off a Super Bowl victory that Grant will hang up the shoulder pads. If he wants to come back, however, it’s uncertain if the Giants would be willing to ante up even the veteran minimum for him.

Domenik Hixon – They like his work ethic and return ability, but two torn ACLs might be viewed as too much of a gamble for the team to take.

Devin Thomas – He proved he still has some value, especially making big plays on special teams. This one could go either way.

Justin Tryon – He showed flashes in the little bit of time he played here. No gut feeling on this one at all.

Michael Clayton – They really don’t need him but Tom Coughlin loves him so it’s likely a jump ball on whether or not Clayton will be around next year.

                See ya

Stacy Andrews – They realized he isn’t nearly as good as his brother, who wasn’t nearly good enough to warrant keeping so it’s unlikely either of the Andrews brothers will be donning the blue and white next season.

Jimmy Kennedy – If they’re going to pay any vet to be a backup it’s going to be Bernard.

Derrick Martin – One would think there’s no room at the inn for the injury replacement.

Shawn Andrews was absolutely dominating when he played with the Eagles....until he had his breakdown or whatever it was.....Stacy was no slouch either. Analysts thought they were gonna be unbeatable together on the Eagles, but it never panned out. They just collected paychecks the last year.....

Hey man remember Bernard Williams? The OL that failed for pot years ago with the eagles...everyone kept saying "he is gonna apply to come back....blah blah"... The dude got a nice bonus and just didn't like football. He has a nice condo in mapleshade and just chills puffs and plays basketball. He is prob 230-240 now.... Anyway that's what I thought about shawn Andrews... World of talent but just didn't like football. He was so sensitive I really don't think he liked that football was physical. He always seemed like a nice sweet guy in interviews but never seemed like a big oll mean lineman.

I'd like to see Osi come .back but I can't see it. With Austin coming back they should get penetration at tackle and not HAVE TO move tuck and jpp inside as much. If they get LB help and depth then kiwi can play down more on passing downs or even take over Osis 3 rd down role.

Jacobs went from being GONE to a decent chance he stays (depending on the draft and who becomes available). Manninghan is gonna go so its gonna depend on how highly they think of the kid that returned kicks (can't remember how to spell his name) cause he was a 3rd round pick (pretty sure) last year... But they will still draft a reciever or TE reasonably early (if they draft a TE let's hope he is better than beckem). OL needs help cause McKenzy is gone and Diel is only ok... I think they will draft a tackle in round 1 or 2.

They ate young as hell overall so they should be fine... Now go get 2 more rings Eli... Or 3 more...lol.

Will they repeat; doubt it (but I'm hoping) but will they get back there real soon? With Eli I think they will.

                          Peace

The WR I think you mean is Jerrel Jernigan (not sure of spelling). I think Jacobs is a gonner. I want to see more of Andre Brown personally.

Deon Grant should be gone too. I really hope Chad Jones has a miracle of a recovery and is able to step in.

The biggest way to make the Giants better is health...if Austin plays like he can play and if Thomas comes.back healthy their D can be much better...even if they lose Osi....as long as they also GET RID OF ROSS......PLEASE!!!!!
