I am not gonna comment at all, I just wanted to spread some knowledge.

I'll stick around for the controversy which I am sure is to follow, but I won't say anything more...it only leads to bad mojo.

Lol... Could some of it be true? Kinda.... As in some are believable but that doesn't mean they were "censored" but some are ridiculous and illogical...an example is #5...lol... That is simply illogical. Why would a business want to limit its "customer base"??

Over the past four years roughly a million immigrants have been incarcerated in dangerous detention facilities in our taxpayer-financed private prison system where children were abused, women were raped and men died from lack of basic medical attention. Arizona’s Governor Jan Brewer received substantial campaign financing from Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) and GEO Group, the nation’s two largest companies that design, build, finance and operate prisons.
CCA, based in Nashville, TN, and Geo Group, a global corporation based in Boca Raton, FL, are the principal moving forces in the behind-the-scenes organization of the current wave of anti-immigrant legislative efforts.

Both CCA and GEO which rely almost exclusively on revenue from tax dollars at local state, and federal levels, profited from the incarceration of immigrants apprehended by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
CCA’s top management in Tennessee contributed the largest block of out-of-state campaign contributions received by Governor Brewer. Brewer employs as aides two former CCA lobbyists, who assisted signing SB 1070 into law on April 23rd. CCA, which already has several detention facilities in Arizona and is hoping to expand its immigrant business in that state, is expected to show a huge increase in revenues when SB 1070 is implemented.

IMO, the censorship here is that the political implications have been covered up. Immigrants appear to have been incarcerated in prisons funded by tax-payer dollars and the private companies are pumping $$ into campaigns to increase spending for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which in effect will justify the need for larger facilties, which increases the pocket books of these private companies...all at the tax payers' dollar.

You talking about illegal immigrants here? If so, I never understood why illegals get incarcerated in American Prisons. Any illegal, especially those here who are committing crimes beyond being here illegally, should be shipped back where they came from and locked up there. And that needs to be in some type of agreement with those countries, as we should only allow immigration from countries who agree to take back, and incarcerate, the illegals and criminals that came here from that country.

The expense of their encarceration is paid for by tax dollars and the funding of the prisons os paid for by tax dollars. Therefore, these companies, by lobbying for the encarceration of illegals (in the U.S.), will enable them to increase their revenue because they will receive federal funding to expand the prison system. OK, you came here illegally, you got caught, now go home. Plain and simple. Also, think about this, they are not taxpayers nor were they ever, U.S. taxpayers but are receiving the benefits of taxpayer dollars in the U.S. prison system.

So we're on the same page here. The entire immigration system is fucked. Personally, I'd cease all legal immigration(from violating countries) into the US until the illegals are weeded out and sent back home. Furthermore, I'd only re-allow immigration from the violating countries on condition that they police illegal emigration and do all that they can to stop their citizens from entering our country AND, if illegals do somehow slip in, they agree to take them back into their prison system. Not one American dollar needs to be spent on an illegal immigrants in any capacity; not health care, not prison, not benefits, nothing. I feel like anchor babies shouldn't be given rights either. Yeah, foreign countries will cry their heart out and call America racist....let them cry. This country needs to preserve itself before it worries about making itself available to the rest of the world.

Furthermore, each foreign country needs to have an emigration allowance and some need to be restricted more than others. Conversely, if one country's emigrants are particularly productive and beneficial to the US, up their quota. America is not some infinitely hospitable nation that can just take in wave after wave of people without assessing their impact on the country. The US Government needs to weight the productivity of each foreign nations emigrants and come up with appropriate allowances, which can be lowered and raised based on performance.

I know, I'm heartless like that.

On the other side of the coin, increased spending/funding for ICE benefits us as citizens. You may not agree with the motive, but the end result benefits us.

If you think illegal immigrants cost taxpayers a lot in prisons/detainment/etc, take a look at what they cost us in terms of welfare benefits, health care costs, and employee displacement.

War on drugs? I buy that. War on illegal immigration? That benefits us all in the long run.

This is gonna turn into an immigration thread...

First, you guys don't understand why illegal immigrants that break the law are not just deported? Um... Cause they would just be trying to get back in the same day they got back "home". We tried that, it don't work. You break the law here, you do the time here THEN you get deported.

As far as illegal immigrants and the economy.... Do you guys understand what would happen to farms, the cost of ALL goods from farms, the number of small businesses that would close (service industry would be devistated)??

Whenever the subject of immigration comes up... People tend to forget that their ancestors were immigrants. I know....I know.... "They did it the right way"... Really? How many of us REALLY know that? How many lied along the way? I can tell you that if I had a family and was living in squalor in some third world country I would do whatever it took to get my family here. An illegal commits a felony then fine, deport them but if they are honest hard working people.... Embrace them.

I don't believe it. I would like to know how they came up with that claim. Yes, soldiers commit suicide. We understand that and its a horrible thing. These men should have every reasonable resource available to them but I think that claim reaks of sensationalism.

My cousin is getting back from an 18 month tour in Afghanistan tonight...we talk a lot.

He tells me they have to go through group mental counseling A LOT, and the aim is to speak on suicide and PTSD. He says he's been through it half a dozen times in this last tour...he's a guy who rolls around and looks for IED's.
