I recently started working and at the job I'm pretty much walking around all day, I started losing weight, so I thought of supplementing with meal replacers since I'm not allowed to eat constantly like I usually do, but here's the main question, although it is kind of a stupid one. So are there any protein supplements that aren't derived from animals, that would work just as well as regular products? (fish, egg, and plants are okay), and would the vege protein supplements work just as well as as regular protein powders if thats the only supplemental option? Can't take regular protein supplements for religious reasons.

If you can't consume whey or casein I would go with egg protein or a mix og egg and a vegetable protein source. I don't think the difference would be that big, if any at all.

    Egg white protein: http://truenutrition.com/p-944-egg-w...otein-1lb.aspx
    Gemma pea protein: http://truenutrition.com/p-1115-gemm...n-gmo-1lb.aspx

As far as I know, I am pretty sure the Lean Beef Aminos are whey and casein free:

I haven't tried them so perhaps others who have can offer some feedback on them.

You can also add in a BCAA or EAA product to prevent catabolism:

I love BCAA plus lemon-lime flavored.

My main concern is, in terms of supplementation, even post workout, would egg/fish/vege protein powders work just as well as other products in terms of muscle growth? (is protein protein? lol)

Egg protein is very high quality, so you don't need to worry about it.
