  • Looking for Hotel suggestions in New York/Long Island City area

So I am trying to decide on a hotel in the New York area that has easy access to metro, in decent neighborhood/street, has close neighborhood restaurant/dining options and costs under $200 per night. I've been looking specifically in Long Island City and have seen a few options I like, except that most reviews about the neighborhood they are in is not so great.

Other than me flying into Laguardia, I chose LIC specifically because it seemed to offer a better/shorter 'commuting' option in and out of Manhattan. I stayed in Astoria last year and commuted to the city for my show and to be honest I was miserable because it seemed so damn long.

Anyone ever stayed in this area or would recommend a specific hotel?

How about staying in Brooklyn. Check out 7th ave, Atlantic ave or dekalb ave. These are 3,2,1 stops from manhattan respectively on the local train line On the B and Q line
