Our featured member for this month is theroymccoy. Thanks for taking the time to let us get to know you better. This is a good read.

    1. What is your name? Any nicknames?

Roy Sabater Jr. My family and relatives call me ‘‘Jay’’ because they are too lazy to say ‘‘J.R.’’ My buddies in college started calling me ‘‘Roy Deez’’ for some reason, which turned into ‘‘Roy Diesel’’.

    2. Where do you live?

    Beautiful Orange County, CA.

    3. What do you do for a living or what are you studying?

I graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 2008 with a *takes a deep breath* Degree in Business Economics, Emphasis in Accounting and minored in Exercise and Sports Studies, Emphasis in Personal Training. Took me 5 years but dammit was it worth it (staying in Santa Barbara a while longer, that is.)
I also own a Max Muscle in Los Alamitos, CA with my pops. It’s fun and I get to talk and help people about getting started on a diet and supplementation routine.

    4. Are you in a relationship? Do you have any kids?

No and no. Parents are pressuring me and trying to get me a legit girlfriend. Even on a vacation to the Philippines, we were seated next to one of the flight attendants and my mom’s like “This is my son; he’s single. Can I have your phone number?” She gave it. Too awkward so I never called.

    5. What three words best describe you?

    Open-minded, Bipolar

    6. What 10 things would someone see when they walked in your door?

    Salvador Dali paintings.
Poster of Gary Oldman’s character in “The Professional.”
Oversized stuffed lion from Vegas ring toss game I won when I was 9. (proud of that one.)
    Lava lamp that’’s never used.
Max Muscle and TrueProtein supplement bottles.
Baseball caps. Lots and lots of baseball caps.
    Two desks.
    Two computer chairs.

    7. Did you play sports in high school or college? Which one(s)?

I tried out for basketball but idiot me signed up for freshmen when I was a sophomore. I was too small for football (5'9", 120 lbs. as a junior). I did get into volleyball but I thought it was for women so stopped going to practice. So I started weight training instead and haven’’t looked back.

    8. If time and money were not an issue, what would you do with your life?

Women are beautiful. I’’d probably be loving them all day, every day.

    9. What kind of music will be on when you get into the car?

Violent Femmes, Radiohead, The Pixies, Fear Factory.

    10. If you COULD erase one year out of your life, which one would it be? Why?

2004. I got PC 242 Misdemeanor Battery Charge during college. I still regret it to this day.

    11. What bill do you hate to pay the most?

Franchise Fees. Curses to you, corporate! Just kidding they're good people.

    12. What will you do with your tax refund? If you get one.

Buy more Java Mocha cold-filtered whey from TrueProtein.

    13. How old were you when you first got your first car & what was it?

I was...16? It was a 94 C-class Mercedes. Loved that thing. Black, lowered, with rims. Waxed and polish that mutha every other week. Blasted some Brothers Johnson "Strawberry Letter 23" whenever I took it out.

    14. What goals are you working to achieve this year?

Getting to 250 but eating sucks. Expanding the business.

    15. What famous person would you like to have dinner with?

    Giovanni Ribisi or Sam Rockwell.

    16. If you could only eat FIVE foods for the rest of your life, what would you pick?

I just need 1. Crispy pata. Filipino favorite. Imagine pork rinds, bacon, and carnita meat infused into one delectable bite...MOTHER OF GOD.

    17. Do you have any special skills or hobbies (i.e., nunchucks, welding, guitar, etc.)?

Me and my buddies won our high school Starcraft (it's a PC game) tournament 2 years in a row and won $100 each time. I guess you can say I'm good at Starcraft.

    18. What is the ONE thing you always get when you go into Sam’s or Costco’s?

Peach mango salsa near the giant refrigerator where they keep the veggies.

    19. Who is your favorite cartoon character?

Master Shake from Aqua Teen Hunger Force on Cartoon Network.

    20. Does someone at the gym really annoy you? why?

People who don't rack their weights.

    21. How often are you late for work or school?

    Seldom.

    22. Have you ever had two dates in one night?

    No. I plan accordingly

    23. What is one thing you could tell us about yourself that we would be shocked to know?

I wanted to be a geologist. Every little thing, whether it was a piece of dirt to a rock, has experienced and seen so much more than what we will ever. It has seen things that our ancestors haven't. It will continue to see things after we're all gone. See that dirt pile over there that you stepped on? Yeah, a motherf*ckin' dinosaur stepped in that too. It's actually quite fascinating.

    24. Have you ever found something in your parent’s bedroom that was questionable? If so, what?

Pretty vanilla exceeeeeeept...I found my dad's stash of Playboys when I was a youngin'. 'Hey, what's going on in my pants?!?!'

    25. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

San Diego, CA. Fell in love with Gaslamp.

    26. How many drinks does it take before you get drunk?

8? Jack and cokes, Amstel Lights and my new favorite, Coedo Japanese beer. Never had a body buzz before tasting that.

    27. Do you have any tattoos? What and Where?

    Nope.

    28. Do you have any piercings? Where?

Got 6-guage flesh tunnels in both lobes.

    29. What's the first thing you notice in the opposite sex?

Definitely eyes. Wait, I meant boobs. Definitely boobs.

    30. What is your favorite lift?

    Deadlift.

    31. What personality traits do you look for in a partner?

A woman who has a lot to say but chooses not to.
A woman who keeps pedicured feet. Yes I know you asked for personality traits but I needed to slip that in there as well.

    32. What magazine do you read most often?

I used to read The Economist but not anymore. Now I rely on the internet to make my opinions, ha.

    33. If you could have any one superpower, what would it be?

Invisibility. No no no, I'm not a pervert like that. I'm just fascinated by how people act when no one is watching.

    34. What motivates you in life?

Comfortableness, balance, love, sex, respect, my mother.

    35. Graduating GPA from high school?

    3.7?

    36. If you died today, would your affairs be in order?

Like, if I have a will/living trust? No I don't have those things. As far as having debt I don't have that, neither. Is it 'neither' or 'either'?

    37. If you had to give up one electronic gadget, what would it be?

I couldn't part with any. Maybe my Sonicare toothbrush but now you're breaking my balls.

    38. Last book you read?

    The Stranger by Camus.Years ago.

    39. What got you motivated to start lifting?

Father won a few shows. Uncle got Mr. California twice and places very well at the National-level. Aunt owns a few gyms in the Philippines. I'm vain and love to eat as well so bodybuilding seemed like a good fit, heh.

    40. Why do you come to IntenseMuscle.com everyday?

Read up on interesting ideas and banter with intelligent, funny, and thought-provoking members who love to train and progress with their goals.

...and admire Sammich's magnificent body hair and Skip's ravishing good looks. Skip, I expect the check in the mail, thanks.

Awkwardness aside, that was hilarious. And the whole interview was quite an interesting read.

Are you familiar with cracklins? Deep fried and seasoned bite sized chunks of pig. Meat, fat, skin (and sometimes a little hair). MOTHER OF HEART ATTACK. :hungry:

          Is that similar?

I just looked it up in Google and they seem pretty similar except crispy pata has a lot more meat.

Main dish with rice. Any respectable filipino place should have this...I'm not sure where you're from but the best places are in Southern California.

You could eat it by itself but you'll probably get dizzy from eating so much. The rice acts like a buffer, ha.
