  • Favorite Movies

Since this group doesn't wander down the beaten path I was wondering what favorite movies ya'll have.

    Me first:

    The Shawshank Redemption
Proof of Life (Downtown 2 not in position! - inside joke, sorry)
    The One - Jet Li
    Oh Brother, Where Art Thou?
    Get Shorty
    Ocean's Eleven
    The Green Mile
    Rush Hour
    Contact
    Lethal Weapon
    Payback

There's more I'm sure but these are the main ones that I can watch over and over and still enjoy. :p

Interesting note about Urban Cowboy. That's where I grew up. Not on the set...there in Pasadena. Gilley's was huge. Watched it burn down. Can't count the number of guys I know who work out in those plants. Dad, brother-in-law, nephew, ex-boyfriends and friends amongst them. Don't have the slightest idea where that trailor park could be. Everybody lived in the 'burbs and drove to the plants. I've got two pics of Travolta while he was there filming from a minister who was on the set with them. Johnny Lee's trailor was everywhere. I remember Mickey Gilley's Mobile America (yes, mobile homes) commercials from back then. Have the jingle stuck in my head right now. Call me...I'll sing it for you. :p Ahh. Sniff, sniff. Such a proud moment.

I rode the bull at Gilley's!!! I went with my daycare on a field trip. I remember wishing I was old enough to go there and dance. Oh, how I love to hit the dancefloor at a country western bar.

I used to work for a construction company that builds those plants. In fact, the place I grew up wouldn't exist if it weren't for all the plants around. It's very much like Pasadena, but not as big. About 2 yrs ago, I got to see an explosion at the chemical plant across the street from my office. It happened to be on Friday the 13 of Sept., right after the anniversary of 9/11. So, of course we were all extra nervous. Turned out a rail car had exploded. That fireball was at least 500 ft. It felt like a truck hit our building.

                Wait, I got off topic....damn

Ummm. AI you're freaking me out. I'm pretty sure I was a single birth, but maybe I did have a twin and she went home with a different family. Seriously. How weird to have met up again here.
