  • Song Remakes

I heard a remake of the old Phil Collins song "In the air tonight" that Nonpoint sings and I'm not sure I really like it.

I'm not sure why these bands are remaking so many songs the last few year...is it because they can't think of new material.....or is it because they like to old stuff???

It's because it's easier to put out recycled stuff then it is to write your own. Most of the "bands" around today are just tired wannabes anyway. Give me ACDC any day sir, now that's what I call music.

I could lie here and say I don't like remakes, but I won't. I do like SOME of the remakes.

Some of them I do like too. But mostly they are of songs I didn't really like by the original band. The one by Phil I actually liked as a kid which is why I probably don't care too much for the remake.

I guess one of my favorite remakes would be Limp Bizkit doing Faith that George Michael did.

My goodness SM, don't say things like that out loud. That's akin to blasphemy.

OK I'll give it a go. Was that Jackyl or is it spelt differently?

I hope BNS Wife doesn't mind. But this is a good place to mention remakes.

This is the lead singer of Brand New Sin (BNS's hubby) with a band called Dixie Hustler -- the song is Simpleman which is a Lenoard Skinnard remake. Who sings it now?

                    Right?!?!

OK I've just heard it. I'll concede that it's good but it's not better than the original. It's just a pretty good clone. Musically, it doesn't improve on the original version, which has one of the most instantly recognizeable guitar riffs of pretty much most rock tracks. Vocally, the guy doesn't come up to scratch to Brian Johnson's voice either. My vote still goes to ACDC.
