    Portable DVD Players

    Going to be moving yet again here in the next month or so (for the last time for a long time) and this time we are moving about 7-8 hours away. Was looking at getting one of those portable DVD players for the car (for the kids)..you know, the kind that straps to the Driver/Passenger Headrest and is essentially suspended in the space between (right above the console). Anyone have any info on these? Particular brand(s) or good deals, etc? Looking at getting one before we leave, so we have time to shop, but just wondering if anyone has one of these and their thoughts, etc. Thanks...

    I just bought one for our trip to Disney. Well worth the $160. Every time we go to buy any electronics we always end up at Best Buy. They have the best deals and we usually end up with a decent rebate.

    We bought a Mintek brand. I've never heard of it before, but it worked just as good as any other IMO.

    I wish we had these things when we were kids. It was such a pleasant 20 hour drive to Florida.
    Greek women, we may be lambs in the kitchen, but we are tigers in the bedroom.

      definitely use a big name store like Best Buy or Circuit City. Both a nice selection. Becareful though, some of those things get pricey!!

      Circuit City has a low price guarantee for 30 days. Find the same item somewhere cheaper, show them the add and your receipt and they will give you the difference plus 10% on the spot.

        I'll check out that brand AI...Thanks..My wife saw a couple at Target so, I'll check those out, but I'm definitely going to hit up Best Buy and Circuit City as well. I wonder if Sams Club has these items...might have to take a trip there as well. Luckily, all these stores are within a 1/2 mile of each other, so shopping for it shouldnt be too bad.

        Any other brands worth checking out? Im not really a tech guy w/ too many of these toys so any/all help is appreciated.

          Slide - I just borrowed a friend's Toshiba brand that was very nice. Another thing to take into consideration is get ones that accepted headphones, that will make for a quiet ride!

          Also, I'm assuming you'll be getting one with a car adapter as well.

            I didnt even think about the car adapter. I guess I just was assuming it came with it? I will make sure Im on on the look out to see if the damn thing comes w/ it or its an "extra."

            Headphones would definitely be a good idea, not necessarily for this trip, but would come in handy down the road. Thanks bro...
