AAaaarerrgggg!!! Trying to ck posts & damn porno sites keep popping up?!?!

Anyone have any probs with a trojen virus? Can't seem to get rid of it.

And yessss, it's a prob with 3 kids who need to do homework on this pc.

I had it come to me but my Norton anti-virus caught it in time. Don;t know how to get rid of it though..Sorry..

same here. if you dont have the updated norton get it and run it. it should take care of it.

we have e-trust antivirus, it finds it and deletes the files but then it just comes back again a few days later.

I have a program called Ad-aware that will scan your computer and registry that should find the problem for you. You can download it for free. Just go to cnet.com and do a search for it under downloads. I also run a progam called win patrol that will keep files like that off your computer. You can also download for free from cnet.

I already got adaware, it has found spyware but nothing more.
At least its not destructive, what it does is pops the browser to a porn site evry now & then....which isn't always a bad thing! lol

One reason it may keep coming back is that sometimes these "programs", (viruses, spyware, adware,etc.) can reinstall themselves because you have system restore set. Go to system restore settings and shut it off for all drives then run some of these wonderfull programs: Adaware, Spybot S&D (Search and Destroy), AVG, Popupstopper.

There's more, but that will get you started in the right direction. You can type the word "free" in front of each of those programs in your google search. I'll be in the dogg pound if anyone needs help or go to this link and they are very helpful:

One thing I noticed is it typacally redirects while typing in a new url, then if I look at the toolbar the url I just typed is prefixed with: http//:www.microsoit.com/......

I looked at it and very similar, may be it. I downloaded trojan hunter and running a scan now.

Hope it works for you. My wife got something simmilar on her computer last year. I was able to get rid of it with ad-aware. Some of the new ones are more difficult.

KR, one way around a bad browser is use someone else's computer to download the programs I or Saturn recommended onto a cd and then install and run them on your system. Good luck!!

I have zone alarm and avg, yahoo tool bar and never have any of this nonsense.
