  • Gym Equipment Needed

A friend of mine is trying to get the money together to open a gym and asked me if I could locate some equipment for him. Obviously, this is the first place I will ask for help. So, if anyone (preferably, but not necessarily) in Europe knows where I can trace some hardcore gym equipment, please contact me via this thread or via a PM. My friend isn't looking for the fancy stuff like the Buttock Caresser Machine or the Silky Smooth Bicep Curler. This will be mostly a hardcore gym (OK, OK, with a lesser hardcore section dedicated to females, so maybe he might need one Silky Smooth Bicep Curler).

The equipment can be new or second hand (depending obviously on condition); he is on a budget right now so it doesn't have to be anything top of the range like a full Hammer Strength installation (although in time, it will probably feature a full Hammer install as I think these are probably the best machines out on the market right now); good, second hand equipment will make for a good start while he makes some headway and a name for himself. Thereby, all types of heavy duty machines/free weight benches for the different exercises will be required. Dumbell range needs to go from 5lb to 200lb in 5lb increments. An assortment of full length, and EZ Olympic bars. A full range of all the weight plates necessary (5lb, 10lb, 25lb, 35lb, 45lb). All the different handles that are needed for various exercises. In short anything and eveything that may be needed to populate a gym with hardcore equipment.

OK, OK, I forgot the ladies again. Threadmills, and bikes and steppers will also be required. :p Errr...not too sure about the pink dumbells tho...

Obviously, I am no gym design expert and I don't want to steer my friend wrong as he is counting on me for pretty much everything, so any help, advice, hints, design, etc, etc, will be very gratefully accepted, especially from people who have experience as gym owners.

    Thanks everyone.

Hey DP, good suggestion; I had already thought of ebay as an option however, and I wanted to broaden the perimeters of my search to here. I thought it would be a more dynamic environment to get feedback from. Thanks though.

ebay is a great place to look, but I think you will find shipping to be very expensive as gym equipment is heavy!!!!! I would look for a resaler, we those here in the states.

        good luck with your search

Anywhere in Europe will do. The more the merrier and makes for a better choice. A UK source would be fine, please do get in touch.
