Metroflex Gym Phoenix- UPDATE: finally got my permits!

the city of phoenix finally issued my permits yesterday and metroflex gym will be open july 1-5...equipment being delivered the 1st and just ordered a bunch of strongman equipment-farmers, yoke, stones, stone attachment platform for the yoke, sled, chains, bands, log press and all my cable attachments...cant wait to get this gym open

Congratulations on everyone finally moving forward! Im sure you'll be super busy as it first opens, but try to get some pictures up on here. I wish Georgia had amazing gyms like you guys have out there.

Seriously though, that's awesome because I never got to go the one in my home state of TX. I would love to be able to check that out when I get back in town later this year. Congrats and best of luck with all the plans.

drywalling half the wall today to get a head start. all plumbing will put into walls today and electrical will be finished off...plumbing inspection tomorrow and then they will start closing up walls.

also wanted to say that i have a new personal trainer to the metroflex gym phoenix family...IFBB Pro Amit Sapir...he just qualified for the Mr Olympia with a 3rd place finish at the Toronto Pro last weekend. very excited to bring him on board!!

Interesting question Scott. I would think that a skylight would heat up the gym in the summer. Also, can you imagine if the sun was shining in your eyes while trying to get that 21st rep of a widow?

You are right, though, when I'm doing a widowmaker, making sure I don't have the sun in my eyes or, heaven forbid, some sweat go in my eye, is very important. LOL (Once, a little snot dribbled down under my nose and I was so embarrassed I just left for the day...)

There is a gym here in Tucson with a horrid skylight - right over the BB bench area - nearly impossible to see to rack the bar at the wrong time of the day. no skylights...i have windows all around...the entire building is windows on all 4 sides. i had to build walls to add mirrors in here.

scott- i messaged your buddy and told him no problem shooting here and i will be open by the time he wants to do it so it should work out great...thanks again!

I have been going out to Phoenix every October the last couple of years to play in the Men's baseball world series with a friend's team out of LA.....Unfortuneately I won't be able to make it this year but will be out there next year and will definetly come by!!

red paint going up on walls...there will be a 12in silver stripe from ceiling then a 12in black stripe then rest of the wall will be red...once sprayed today the rubber floor goes down tomorrow and then equipment can be dropped
