Blown calf and DC calf exercises

I tore my left calf about a month or so ago and its healing up pretty well. Did it during a slo-pitch ball game running to first...go figure. Anyhow, I have always liked doing the DC calves, and I am wondering if anyone else has had a calf injury and gone back to the DC calf exercises?

Going to start lifting next week after a layoff, and obviously will take it easy on calves, light, higher reps, how it feels. But this is my first time with a torn muscle, and not sure how I should go about lifting. Will it affect other lifts like squatting, deads, etc?

Any advice it much appreciated.

Im curious to know an answer as well. I always thought that a torn calf must hurt like a mofo, was I right? Hopefully it never happens!

Oh yeah, it hurt...hit the ball, started running to first and heard a pop! Limp/hopped the rest of the way, got a pinch runner, and checked it out. Calf, knee and ankle all swolen up a ton, could barely walk. I had to drive home too, and I have a standard lol. That was fun! Went to emerg and doc says it was just a torn muscle, but I went to make sure there was no ligament or tendon damage either.

Now, I do a light jog and stretch before every game
