Lionel,

I work as a personal trainer. I've bee doing it almost 20 years now. Started when I was 16. I continued to do it part time through college and along with my "real jobs". I went for pre-med then switched to molecular biology and graduated with that and a minor in chem. I worked in recombinant DNA for the army for a while as an outside contractor then got a job as an assitant chemist in a filtration lab for a few years then decided to go into personal training full time about 10 years ago. It is by far the most satisfying and rewarding job I have ever had. I love getting up and going to work in the morning. If you want to check out my site it's bodiesbymike.com. If you're a people person I definitely recommend it as a career. If you are intested and don't know where to start PM me and I will be happy to help you in any way I can.

I'm a physical therapist... semi-fitness related, depending on what side of things you end up working... I work in an outpatient orthopedic clinic - which is a fancy way of saying I treat everything from sprained ankles to spinal issues, just not neurological things like patients post stroke or spinal cord injury. Lately I have been working with a lot of athletes - which is great because I can get creative with making up exercises!
Our clinic is also involved in a lot of public education - this month some co-workers and I are going to be doing a presentation at the local Y on the benefits of weight training.

As an extension of my interest in bodybuilding/weight training me and some co-workers are also developing a software program for designing therapeutic exercise programs for patients which will keep track of their workouts and help them to properly progress through their rehab once they finish at the clinic. The software program also contains a workout log, nutrition log with food database, and there is going to be a component specifically designed for personal trainers...

Anyway... if it is an option for you - I highly recommend Physical Therapy as a career!

Only ever been on that site probably twice in my life - and that was just following links other people put up

Edit: That picture (the bunny/pancake avatar) is from ebaumsworld.com - I just trimmed it down a little.
