I was about to say "Dam you" but he beat me too it.
Next time you want to do squats and someones curling in your rack, you''ll remember how it felt, and you'll never do it again. |

if no-one's waiting to squat or otherwise use the rack for something you CAN'T do without a rack (unlike curls) I don't see what the problem is.

i agree AOI i was just giving you a hard time Bouncer Dave. As long as you recognize that if someone wants to squat they have priority. I hate it when you're like "hey you mind if i squat here" and they respond with "I've only got 6 sets left. I'll be done in a bit." that's what's not ok with it. Cus you could easily take your 55lbs and go elsewhere in the gym.
NOT sayin you do 55lbs BD...

we got three squat racks and a full power rack. pretty much im the only one in them, or even in that area. so i just set up shop there, for everything. its pretty sad theres only like 6 people i ever see squat or dead, but i like it that way. i dont really like people.

what's so hard about bending over and grabbing a barbell to curl it for some reps and then set it back down again?

I curl in the squat rack... I really don't feel bad because I really don't respect anyone at the school gym...
And for some reason, I seriously feel stronger when I curl in a rack. I like just picking the bar up from high and be right in front of the mirror. I mean, we don't have those short straight bars at the school gym, just cambered bars that go up in 10lb increments, and the only other option is curling on a bench or on the deadlift station...

still doesn't beat the dicks at my gym who decided to do wrist curls on the squat rack. and i never ask people how many sets they have left, cause i hate it myself. you always have someone ask "how many sets?" and you can't say 3 or 1 since it's a rest=pause set, so they kind of just stare at you in your peripheral ready to jump at the station the second you put the weight down.

I usually reply just one long one, and then handle my business. When I am done, I will remove my plates and step out of the rack. I try to be done with equipment as fast as possible, and I try to be courteous of others, but I'm not sacrificing my workout. It's why I'm there.

I never realised there was a correlation between size and having the "right" to curl in the power rack. The fact that you took the time to go through someones logg to discredit them is pretty low

nothing to do with the right to curl or not.
its the right of someone to talk about you wearing a skirt. i found it offensive.

Now gentlemen be nice.
Anyway, so you guys who are totally against curls in the squat or power racks, where do you guy's curl then? An honest and no bullshit question, not trying to start shit. I realize that everyones gym is a little different, but those are the only two places where I can really do 'em. I have used a bench once or twice when some guy was doing quarter squats with less than I was curling, but I have only seen 2 guys actually do full squats or deads in the power rack and only a hand full of times in the year I've been a member.
