thats why leg workouts are so tough. a great example of pure will power. Proving your body is STRONGER than your mind. or your mind is stronger than that little voice. i dunno, but i got some direction here.

That is INSANE!
I am not knocking the lift in the slightest, but how is that 'nice and deep'? Is it just me or is he not going below parallel? I agree that given the weight, parallel 'can' be considered deep. But I always thought the definition for 'deep' was 'ass-to-grass'. Someone comment on this... Regardless of above overANALyzing, that is some trully awesome power! |

It's great to see a lifter move not only an insane amount of iron but actually do it with fairly strict form. That's the kind of gym I want to train at, with guys all pushing each other to bigger success.
What I'd like to know is who let shirtless lad into that gym....?

[QUOTE=grimsi]i don't know how that ass to the grass shit started but in my opinion it's a big misunderstanding. his form was perfect.[/QUOTE
] ya know what, after watching it again, that was a pretty damn deep squat, just about as deep as he could go..but just for argument sake, the difference between squatting parallel and squatting hamstrings past calves is significant quoted from powermanDL "Work = force * distance force = m*a; for purposes of this thought experiment, we'll say a = 1 just for the sake of simplicity. So F1 = 350 lb*m/s^2 (or 160 kg*m/s^2 [Newtons]) F2 = 405 lb (184 kg*m/s^2 [N]) W1 = 160N * 85cm = 13.6 Newton-meters (or Joules, unit of work) W2 = 184N * 57.5cm = 10.58 J So using this example, all things being equal, the first set, 350 lbs with a full ROM, does slightly more work per rep. You'd need 520 lbs, in fact, with the parallel ROM to achieve the same work output."

Remeber this is not a discussion of his form, HGes a PL and its impressive, And thoose guys dont gow ass to grass becasue there not trying to get big quads, They sqaut wide so they can squat big weight, which he is doing quite nicely. The reason they squat wide is becasue of the fact that your glutes and hams will be able to squat bigger weight. I personally thought his depth is great for a PL

Jeez--why so critical everyone? You ever put 720 on your back? I have (775) and it felt like a truck and a half, not fun---and i was doing partials---if i ever tried to do a full squat with that I would get tomato canned.
I dont care what he looks like, depth looks good--huge respect for that beast
