Rocky, I don't know what Skip would say, but being offseason, this is different than these guys who are dieting. I am gaining now and I don't even weigh myself or check baseline. Offseason is just to keep the metab firing properly and getting the advantage of higher insulin levels on the refeed. I don't see any reason to sweat the weight gain when you aren't dieting anyway and need to push to keep you losing. I weigh myself about once every 10 days to 2 weeks just to see if I am making progress...

Skip, if I am stepping on your toes by attempting to answer these questions just tell me to STFU...lol

I've had this. Yet I am getting leaner but as per my other thread the numbers don't make sense. But who would have thought the whole skip loading when dieting isn't weird anyway lol

the body works in mysterious ways lol! or maybe what s happening is that since last weekend was my first time skiploading after keeping cals and macros the same for months, my body reacted by going up in weight quickly, yet by my second week it had adjusted to the initial shock of dealing with high gi carbs...just a theory i m throwing out there

Try kid's cereal with a protein shake as milk for your first meal. I like it because I can pound a lot of carbs to start my day (usually 200-300g carbs from the cereal fills me), and it seems to clear my stomach pretty quickly so I'm hungry as hell for my next meal.

Another thing to consider, cut your solid food protein sources to allow more room for carbs. I only have shakes during the load, then go back to solid food protein afterwards. (I also do something a little different, but I'm not sure it's Skip-approved, so it doesn't belong here)

I'm 99% sure that Fruity pebbles are gluten-free, at least I remember seeing last week that Fruity Pebble cereal bars are marketed as such, so I don't see how the cereal wouldn't be

Ha...no way. Maybe meal #1 for you! I can't eat more than that. That was 3 meals. There were protein sources mixed in there too. I was stuffed.

Cocoa and fruity pebbles are gluten free...you can find gluten free/fat free muffin mixes too. I am in offseason Rocky too, and I still kill the food, even as I'm not very hungry thru the week cause my cals are high. Here is what I did 2 Saturdays ago...

1 box cocoa pebbles
1/2 box fruity pebbles
8 Skinny cow ice cream sandwiches
3/4 tray of low fat brownies
1 box low fat waffles1
Shitload of syrup
8 soft pretzels
1 large water ice with soft serve (gelati)
1 whole thin crust pizza

This was spread out from about 8am till about 5pm. Then I did a pro/fat meal and slept like a log...oh, and yes, I'm on the toilet quite a bit after about 2pm...lol

for real? i thought ALL cereal comes from either wheat, rye, or barley, which are all sources of gluten...i might have to check the ingredients label next time im at the store...that would be great...what i do right now is buy either rice flour mix or spelt flour mix to make pancakes with, the rest is either white rice or potato starch mix in shakes. i use fruit for my regular weekly carbs but not to skipload because of the fiber content

I'm new to the skiploading idea and had a question. You start out with about a 6 hour skipload starting when you wake up. You watch how quickly you get back to baseline during the week to see if you need to extend your skipload. Now, if my baseline is 200 on sunday, then the next sunday I weight in at 198, does 198 become your new baseline? Might be a stupid question, just trying to make sure I understand.

Yes. That is now your new baseline.

i also want to add that it takes some trial and error to really "master" the correct way to skipload for your body. it took me three skiploads to finally nail it...your skiploads might be too small at first, or even too large, you need to really fine tune that and the high GI carb sources you select

Skip i have two questions:

1 Do you have guys that stay with only a 6 hour load through their entire prep and never increase it to 8 or 12 hours closer to show time when they are more depletede and leaner?

2 And what do you do if a guy has the flew and can't train for the entire week. He loaded on the Sun. and still followed his diet to the t but just could not train during the week. Does the person load again on Sun - wihout even training during the week ?

1. Yes, it does happen sometimes but not very often.

2. Too many variables to say for sure. I would have to see that person's week and see what happened with their weight because you can still deplete glycogen without training. At the very least the load likely wouldn't be as big as usual, though.
