Arms

3B CG RB bench
415x5
435x5
455x5

incline curls
30x15
35x15
40x12

DB triceps ext
30s 3x25

spider curls
70x15
90x15
110x15

band pushups
1 minibandx15
2 minibandx15
average x10

Liked the band pushups...the mini bands didn't work too well but the average band was perfect. Experimenting with high reps on tri acc work since high weights beat up my elbows pretty bad.

Not much to report today. Did lots of reps with light weights since my hip was hurting badly this week. I am 14 weeks out from USAPL South Dakota meet so I want to get healthy before I plan stuff out.

Leg Press (all 15 reps)
4pps
5pps
6pps
7pps
8pps

DB walking lunges
50sx8
70sx8
90sx8

leg curls
105lbs 3x15

hanging leg raises
+15lbs 3x15

Want to get healthy and feel athletic again. May work back into my westside style of old. Shawn's schedule has changed so while he still will tell me what to do if I ask, I no longer have him watching me so it makes it hard. I feel I understand and feel more comfortable with westside if I am training by myself.

So back on a 4 day upper/lower split with heavy westside influence

Speed bench (40% bar weight plus mini's)
160lbs 15x3 varying grips

Standing MP
95x10
135x10
165x6
185x6

Band Pushdowns
75 reps

CS t bar rows
3plx15
3+25plx15
4plx10

Shrugs
315x15
405 2x12

BB curls
barx20
65x20
85x20

This is the start of a "accumulation" phase, for lack of a better work. I hate using words like that and acting like I am all fancy. Basically just means lots of volume. Pretty low weight. Trying to keep rest periods short and get in decent shape. I definitely enjoyed the speed work. I forgot how great you feel while doing it.

ME Lower

Sumo Deads
135x5
225x5
315x5
365x5
405x5
455x5
495x5

BB stepups
95x10 each leg
115x10
135x10

Ghetto GHR
3x10

Band ab fallouts
3x10

Had not done sumo in at least six months. Definitely was a new feeling in the hammies which is a good thing. I was satisfied with my performance here as my sumo is way behind my convo. I kept it pretty light on the stepups cuz of my dang hip and its still kind of letting me know. The volume gets me huffing and puffing though which is good.

ME Upper

Floor Press: All 5s
135
185
225
265
305
330

JM Press
135lbs 5x12

Incline DB press
40s x45

Kroc rows
115s 3x20

Fun to do all new stuff for my heavy lift. Floor presses was probably a PR just cuz my technique is improved. Pretty happy with it. Trying to use tons of volume on my tri's to help bring them up. I find I can do light weight for high reps well without tearing up my elbows.

Yeah Mister, a lot of westside guys just do a light weight high rep set and progress by increasing reps. It makes my tri's feel like jelly.

DE lower

Box Squats: 40% of 1RM + average bands
235lbs 15x2

Speed pulls: 40% of 1RM + short mini's
275 8x1

DB single leg Deadlift
40s 3x15

Hanging ab raises
+20lbs 3x10

Fourth day of training in around so I am a little tired. Got a nice long break ahead of my as I go home for Christmas. Definitely am enjoying the speed work again. My fastest sets were the last few. They didn't aggravate my hip too badly either. Merry Christmas everyone. Don't get sucked into all the consumerism.

I hope everyone had a good Christmas. And sadly, I think I will be starting my own log here at IM in the near future. I am the only one who has posted a workout in 2 weeks. I believe this BOI has run its course.

Sorry man... Between my wife on bed rest and then having the baby I just haven't had time for the internet.

BUt anyway I'm around. I'm going to be on and off for the next few weeks with the baby and tax season, but I get an email when I get a PM so if you need anything let me know. (The IM email gets trapped in my spam so hit me up with a TNation PM if I don't get back to you.)

As for my medical issues: Seems my SHBG is super high, my E2 is at the top of the range and total Estrogen is high. Good news is my total test is pretty high too. But with the coming of the baby it seems some of my symptoms are fading a bit. I think stress was making my hormones go further out of wack than they were anyway... As is, the baby has been out a week and a half and I'm starting to feel better. I plan on waiting another week or so, ask my DR to re-run my Test and E2 and go from there. From what I understand once you go on HRT you are on it for life.

I have been and will be lifting as much as I can, but with the baby and work, it just isn't going to come first for awhile. I'll be killing it soon enough, but the internet has fallen pretty far on my list of priorities.
